Generalized frameworks for first-order evolution inclusions based on Yosida approximations.
We study a family of non linear schemes for the numerical solution of linear advection on arbitrary grids in several space dimension. A proof of weak convergence of the family of schemes is given, based on a new Longitudinal Variation Diminishing (LVD) estimate. This estimate is a multidimensional equivalent to the well-known TVD estimate in one dimension. The proof uses a corollary of the Perron-Frobenius theorem applied to a generalized Harten formalism.

We present algorithms for the determination of polynomials orthogonal with respect to a positive weight function multiplied by a polynomial with simple roots inside the interval of integration. We apply these algorithms to search for and calculate all possible sequences of imbedded quadratures of maximal polynomials order of precision for the generalized Laguerre and Hermite weight functions.
Two general solutions of the collocation problem of physical geodesy are given. Their mutual equivalency and equivalency of them to the classical solution in the regular case are proved. The regularity means the non-singularity of the covariance matrix of those random variables by outcomes of which the measured values of the gravitational field are generated.
Classical solutions of initial boundary value problems are approximated by solutions of associated differential difference problems. A method of lines for an unknown function for the original problem and for its partial derivatives with respect to spatial variables is constructed. A complete convergence analysis for the method is given. A stability result is proved by using differential inequalities with nonlinear estimates of the Perron type for the given operators. A discretization...
Integral functionals based on convex normal integrands are minimized subject to finitely many moment constraints. The integrands are finite on the positive and infinite on the negative numbers, strictly convex but not necessarily differentiable. The minimization is viewed as a primal problem and studied together with a dual one in the framework of convex duality. The effective domain of the value function is described by a conic core, a modification of the earlier concept of convex core. Minimizers...
The 2D-Signorini contact problem with Tresca and Coulomb friction is discussed in infinite-dimensional Hilbert spaces. First, the problem with given friction (Tresca friction) is considered. It leads to a constraint non-differentiable minimization problem. By means of the Fenchel duality theorem this problem can be transformed into a constrained minimization involving a smooth functional. A regularization technique for the dual problem motivated by augmented lagrangians allows to apply an infinite-dimensional...

The paper deals with some new methods for the numerical solution of initial value problems for ordinary differential equations. The main idea of these methods consists in the fact that in one step of the method a group of unknown values of the approximate solution is computed simultaneously. The class of methods under investigation is wide enough to contain almost all known classical methods. Sufficient conditions for convergence are found.
