Convergence of convex-concave saddle functions : applications to convex programming and mechanics
We formulate a finite element method for the computation of solutions to an anisotropic phase-field model for a binary alloy. Convergence is proved in the -norm. The convergence result holds for anisotropy below a certain threshold value. We present some numerical experiments verifying the theoretical results. The interaction between dislocation dipolar loops plays an important role in the computation of the dislocation dynamics. The analytical form of the interaction force between two loops derived in the present paper from Kroupa’s formula of the stress field generated by a single dipolar loop allows for faster computation.
