A Stationary Schrödinger-Poisson System Arising from the Modelling of Electronic Devices.
The electronic structure of the nanocylinder is investigated. Two cases of this kind of the nanostructure are explored: the defect-free nanocylinder and the nanocylinder whose geometry is perturbed by 2 heptagonal defects lying on the opposite sides. The characteristic quantity which is of our interest is the local density of states. To calculate it, the continuum gauge field-theory model will be used. In this model, the Dirac-like equation is solved on a curved surface. This procedure was used...
We study the dynamics of interacting fermionic systems, in the mean-field regime. We consider initial states which are close to quasi-free states and prove that, under suitable assumptions on the inital data and on the many-body interaction, the quantum evolution of the system is approximated by a time-dependent quasi-free state. In particular we prove that the evolution of the reduced one-particle density matrix converges, as the number of particles goes to infinity, to the solution of the time-dependent...
For a general class of atomistic-to-continuum coupling methods, coupling multi-body interatomic potentials with a P1-finite element discretisation of Cauchy–Born nonlinear elasticity, this paper adresses the question whether patch test consistency (or, absence of ghost forces) implies a first-order error estimate. In two dimensions it is shown that this is indeed true under the following additional technical assumptions: (i) an energy consistency condition, (ii) locality of the interface correction,...
