On envelopes of holomorphy of domains covered by Levi-flat hats and the reflection principle

Joël Merker (2002)

Annales de l’institut Fourier

In the present paper, we associate the techniques of the Lewy-Pinchuk reflection principle with the Behnke-Sommer continuity principle. Extending a so-called reflection function to a parameterized congruence of Segre varieties, we are led to studying the envelope of holomorphy of a certain domain covered by a smooth Levi-flat “hat”. In our main theorem, we show that every 𝒞 -smooth CR diffeomorphism h : M M ' between two globally minimal real analytic hypersurfaces in n ( n 2 ) is real analytic at every point...

On extensions of holomorphic functions satisfying a polynomial growth condition on algebraic varieties in 𝐂 n

Jean Erik Björk (1974)

Annales de l'institut Fourier

Let V be an algebraic variety in C n and when k 0 is an integer then Pol ( V , k ) denotes all holomorphic functions f ( z ) on V satisfying | f ( z ) | C f ( 1 + | z | ) k for all z V and some constant C f . We estimate the least integer ϵ ( V , k ) such that every f Pol ( V , k ) admits an extension from V into C n by a polynomial P ( z 1 , ... , z n ) , of degree k + ϵ ( V , k ) at most. In particular lim k > ϵ ( V , k ) is related to cohomology groups with coefficients in coherent analytic sheaves on V . The existence of the finite integer ϵ ( V , k ) is for example an easy consequence of Kodaira’s Vanishing Theorem.

On extensions of the Mittag-Leffler theorem

Ewa Ligocka (1998)

Annales Polonici Mathematici

The classical Mittag-Leffler theorem on meromorphic functions is extended to the case of functions and hyperfunctions belonging to the kernels of linear partial differential operators with constant coefficients.

On extremal holomorphically contractible families

Marek Jarnicki, Witold Jarnicki, Peter Pflug (2003)

Annales Polonici Mathematici

We prove (Theorem 1.2) that the category of generalized holomorphically contractible families (Definition 1.1) has maximal and minimal objects. Moreover, we present basic properties of these extremal families.

On Fatou-Julia decompositions

Taro Asuke (2013)

Annales de la faculté des sciences de Toulouse Mathématiques

We propose a Fatou-Julia decomposition for holomorphic pseudosemigroups. It will be shown that the limit sets of finitely generated Kleinian groups, the Julia sets of mapping iterations and Julia sets of complex codimension-one regular foliations can be seen as particular cases of the decomposition. The decomposition is applied in order to introduce a Fatou-Julia decomposition for singular holomorphic foliations. In the well-studied cases, the decomposition behaves as expected.

On fixed points of holomorphic type

Ewa Ligocka (2002)

Colloquium Mathematicae

We study a linearization of a real-analytic plane map in the neighborhood of its fixed point of holomorphic type. We prove a generalization of the classical Koenig theorem. To do that, we use the well known results concerning the local dynamics of holomorphic mappings in ℂ².

On fundamental groups of algebraic varieties and value distribution theory

Katsutoshi Yamanoi (2010)

Annales de l’institut Fourier

If a smooth projective variety X admits a non-degenerate holomorphic map X from the complex plane , then for any finite dimensional linear representation of the fundamental group of X the image of this representation is almost abelian. This supports a conjecture proposed by F. Campana, published in this journal in 2004.

On geometry of fronts in wave propagations

Susumu Tanabé (1999)

Banach Center Publications

We give a geometric descriptions of (wave) fronts in wave propagation processes. Concrete form of defining function of wave front issued from initial algebraic variety is obtained by the aid of Gauss-Manin systems associated with certain complete intersection singularities. In the case of propagations on the plane, we get restrictions on types of possible cusps that can appear on the wave front.

On gradient at infinity of semialgebraic functions

Didier D'Acunto, Vincent Grandjean (2005)

Annales Polonici Mathematici

Let f: ℝⁿ → ℝ be a C² semialgebraic function and let c be an asymptotic critical value of f. We prove that there exists a smallest rational number ϱ c 1 such that |x|·|∇f| and | f ( x ) - c | ϱ c are separated at infinity. If c is a regular value and ϱ c < 1 , then f is a locally trivial fibration over c, and the trivialisation is realised by the flow of the gradient field of f.
