Travelling wave solutions to some PDEs of mathematical physics.
Let K be an algebraically closed field, complete for an ultra- metric absolute value, let D be an infinite subset of K and let H(D) be the set of analytic elements on D. We denote by Mult(H(D), UD) the set of semi-norms Phi of the K-vector space H(D) which are continuous with respect to the topology of uniform convergence on D and which satisfy further Phi(f g)=Phi(f) Phi(g) whenever f,g elements of H(D) such that fg element of H(D). This set is provided with the topology of simple convergence....
Some results concerning triangularization of some operators on locally convex spaces are established.
This paper develops some Littlewood-Paley theory for Hermite expansions. The main result is that certain analogues of Triebel-Lizorkin spaces are well-defined in the context of Hermite expansions.
In [HS] the Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces on spaces of homogeneous type were introduced. In this paper, the Triebel-Lizorkin spaces on spaces of homogeneous type are generalized to the case where , and a new atomic decomposition for these spaces is obtained. As a consequence, we give the Littlewood-Paley characterization of Hardy spaces on spaces of homogeneous type which were introduced by the maximal function characterization in [MS2].
Suppose that μ is a Radon measure on , which may be non-doubling. The only condition assumed on μ is a growth condition, namely, there is a constant C₀ > 0 such that for all x ∈ supp(μ) and r > 0, μ(B(x,r)) ≤ C₀rⁿ, where 0 < n ≤ d. The authors provide a theory of Triebel-Lizorkin spaces for 1 < p < ∞, 1 ≤ q ≤ ∞ and |s| < θ, where θ > 0 is a real number which depends on the non-doubling measure μ, C₀, n and d. The method does not use the vector-valued maximal function inequality...
It is well known that every derivation of a von Neumann algebra into itself is an inner derivation and that every derivation of a von Neumann algebra into its predual is inner. It is less well known that every triple derivation (defined below) of a von Neumann algebra into itself is an inner triple derivation. We examine to what extent all triple derivations of a von Neumann algebra into its predual are inner. This rarely happens but it comes close. We prove a (triple) cohomological...
The probability measure functor P carries open continuous mappings of compact metric spaces into Q-bundles provided Y is countable-dimensional and all fibers are infinite. This answers a question raised by V. Fedorchuk.
Pseudoconvex domains are exhausted in such a way that we keep a part of the boundary fixed in all the domains of the exhaustion. This is used to solve a problem concerning whether the generators for the ideal of either the holomorphic functions continuous up to the boundary or the bounded holomorphic functions, vanishing at a point in where the fibre is nontrivial, has to exceed . This is shown not to be the case.
In this note we construct Swiss cheeses X such that R(X) is non-regular but such that R(X) has no non-trivial Jensen measures. We also construct a non-regular uniform algebra with compact, metrizable character space such that every point of the character space is a peak point.
A (smooth) dynamical system with transformation group ⁿ is a triple (A,ⁿ,α), consisting of a unital locally convex algebra A, the n-torus ⁿ and a group homomorphism α: ⁿ → Aut(A), which induces a (smooth) continuous action of ⁿ on A. In this paper we present a new, geometrically oriented approach to the noncommutative geometry of trivial principal ⁿ-bundles based on such dynamical systems, i.e., we call a dynamical system (A,ⁿ,α) a trivial noncommutative principal ⁿ-bundle if each isotypic component...
Suppose is a separable unital -algebra each fibre of which is isomorphic to the same strongly self-absorbing and -injective -algebra . We show that and are isomorphic as -algebras provided the compact Hausdorff space is finite-dimensional. This statement is known not to extend to the infinite-dimensional case.
Trudinger-Moser inequality is a substitute to the (forbidden) critical Sobolev embedding, namely the case where the scaling corresponds to . It is well known that the original form of the inequality with the sharp exponent (proved by Moser) fails on the whole plane, but a few modied versions are available. We prove a precised version of the latter, giving necessary and sufficient conditions for the boundedness, as well as for the compactness, in terms of the growth and decay of the nonlinear function....
Our aim in this paper is to establish Trudinger’s inequality on Musielak-Orlicz-Morrey spaces under conditions on which are essentially weaker than those considered in a former paper. As an application and example, we show Trudinger’s inequality for double phase functionals , where and satisfy log-Hölder conditions and is nonnegative, bounded and Hölder continuous.
We discuss various results on the existence of ‘true’ preimages under continuous open maps between -spaces, -lattices and some other spaces. The aim of the paper is to provide accessible proofs of this sort of results for functional-analysts.
Associated to an Hadamard matrix is the spectral measure μ ∈ [0,N] of the corresponding Hopf image algebra, A = C(G) with . We study a certain family of discrete measures , coming from the idempotent state theory of G, which converge in Cesàro limit to μ. Our main result is a duality formula of type , where are the truncations of the spectral measures μ,ν associated to . We also prove, using these truncations , that for any deformed Fourier matrix we have μ = ν.
