Rejection of nonharmonic disturbances in nonlinear systems

Shutang Liu, Yuan Jiang, Ping Liu (2010)

Kybernetika

This paper proposes an asymptotic rejection algorithm on the rejection of nonharmonic periodic disturbances for general nonlinear systems. The disturbances, which are produced by nonlinear exosystems, are nonharmonic and periodic. A new nonlinear internal model is proposed to deal with the disturbances. Further, a state feedback controller is designed to ensure that the system's state variables can asymptotically converge to zero, and the disturbances can be completely rejected. The proposed algorithm...

Robust and reliable H output feedback control for linear systems with parameter uncertainty and actuator failure

Chang-Jun Seo, Byung Kook Kim (1999)

Kybernetika

The robust and reliable H output feedback controller design problem is investigated for uncertain linear systems with actuator failures within a prespecified subset of actuators. The uncertainty considered here is time- varying norm-bounded parameter uncertainty in the state matrix. The output of a faulty actuator is assumed to be any arbitrary energy-bounded signal. An observer-based output feedback controller design is presented which stabilizes the plant and guarantees an H -norm bound on attenuation...

Yuan Jiang, Jiyang Dai (2011)

Kybernetika

This paper treats the question of robust control of chaos in modified FitzHugh-Nagumo neuron model under external electrical stimulation based on internal model principle. We first present the solution of the global robust output regulation problem for output feedback system with nonlinear exosystem. Then we show that the robust control problem for the modified FitzHugh-Nagumo neuron model can be formulated as the global robust output regulation problem and the solvability conditions for the output...

Robust controller design for linear polytopic systems

Vojtech Veselý (2006)

Kybernetika

The paper addresses the problem of the robust output feedback controller design with a guaranteed cost and parameter dependent Lyapunov function for linear continuous time polytopic systems. Two design methods based on improved robust stability conditions are proposed. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods. The obtained results are compared with other three design procedures.

Robust decentralized H 2 control of multi-channel descriptor systems with norm-bounded parametric uncertainties

Weihua Gui, Ning Chen, Guisheng Zhai (2009)

Kybernetika

This paper considers a robust decentralized H 2 control problem for multi-channel descriptor systems. The uncertainties are assumed to be time-invariant, norm-bounded, and exist in both the system and control input matrices. Our interest is focused on dynamic output feedback. A necessary and sufficient condition for an uncertain multi-channel descriptor system to be robustly stabilizable with a specified H 2 norm is derived in terms of a strict nonlinear matrix inequality (NMI), that is, an NMI with...

Robust dynamic output feedback fault-tolerant control for Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy systems with interval time-varying delay via improved delay partitioning approach

Chao Sun, Fuli Wang, Xiqin He (2016)

Open Mathematics

This paper addresses the problem of robust fault-tolerant control design scheme for a class of Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy systems subject to interval time-varying delay and external disturbances. First, by using improved delay partitioning approach, a novel n-steps iterative learning fault estimation observer under H ∞ constraint is constructed to achieve estimation of actuator fault. Then, based on the online estimation information, a fuzzy dynamic output feedback fault-tolerant controller considered...

Robust Feedback Control Design for a Nonlinear Wastewater Treatment Model

M. Serhani, N. Raissi, P. Cartigny (2009)

Mathematical Modelling of Natural Phenomena

In this work we deal with the design of the robust feedback control of wastewater treatment system, namely the activated sludge process. This problem is formulated by a nonlinear ordinary differential system. On one hand, we develop a robust analysis when the specific growth function of the bacterium μ is not well known. On the other hand, when also the substrate concentration in the feed stream sin is unknown, we provide an observer of system and propose a design of robust feedback control in...

Robust observer-based finite-time H control designs for discrete nonlinear systems with time-varying delay

Yali Dong, Huimin Wang, Mengxiao Deng (2021)

Kybernetika

This paper investigates the problem of observer-based finite-time H control for the uncertain discrete-time systems with nonlinear perturbations and time-varying delay. The Luenberger observer is designed to measure the system state. The observer-based controller is constructed. By constructing an appropriated Lyapunov-.Krasovskii functional, sufficient conditions are derived to ensure the resulting closed-loop system is H finite-time bounded via observer-based control. The observer-based controller...

Robust PI-D controller design for descriptor systems using regional pole placement and/or H 2 performance

Vojtech Veselý, Ladislav Körösi (2020)

Kybernetika

The paper deals with the problem of obtaining a robust PI-D controller design procedure for linear time invariant descriptor uncertain polytopic systems using the regional pole placement and/or H 2 criterion approach in the form of a quadratic cost function with the state, derivative state and plant input (QSR). In the frame of Lyapunov Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) regional pole placement approach and/or H 2 quadratic cost function based on Bellman-Lyapunov equation, the designed novel design procedure...

Semi-smooth Newton methods for the Signorini problem

Kazufumi Ito, Karl Kunisch (2008)

Applications of Mathematics

Semi-smooth Newton methods are analyzed for the Signorini problem. A proper regularization is introduced which guarantees that the semi-smooth Newton method is superlinearly convergent for each regularized problem. Utilizing a shift motivated by an augmented Lagrangian framework, to the regularization term, the solution to each regularized problem is feasible. Convergence of the regularized problems is shown and a report on numerical experiments is given.

Soft variable structure control in time-delay systems with saturating input

Przemysław Ignaciuk (2021)

Kybernetika

In order to achieve a short regulation cycle, time-optimal control has been considered in the past. However, the sensitivity to errors and uncertainties, and implementation difficulties in the practical systems, have incited other research directions to meet this objective. In this paper, soft Variable Structure Control (VSC) is analyzed from the perspective of linear time-delay systems with input constraint. The desired fast convergence under a smoothly varying control signal is obtained. The stability...

Some remarks on matrix pencil completion problems

Jean-Jacques Loiseau, Petr Zagalak, Sabine Mondié (2004)

Kybernetika

The matrix pencil completion problem introduced in [J. J. Loiseau, S. Mondié, I. Zaballa, and P. Zagalak: Assigning the Kronecker invariants to a matrix pencil by row or column completions. Linear Algebra Appl. 278 (1998)] is reconsidered and the latest results achieved in that field are discussed.
