We introduce a new class of spaces, called Hausdorff modulo $ℐ$ or $T_2$ mod $ℐ$ spaces with respect to an ideal $ℐ$ which contains the class of all Hausdorff spaces. Characterizations of these spaces are given and their properties are investigated. The concept of compactness modulo an ideal $ℐ$ was introduced by Newcomb in 1967 and studied by Hamlett and Jankovic in 1990. Let $𝔞\subseteq ℂ[x_1,...,x_n]$ be a monomial ideal and $𝒥\left({𝔞}^c\right)$ the multiplier ideal of $𝔞$ with coefficient $c$. Then $𝒥\left({𝔞}^c\right)$ is also a monomial ideal of $ℂ[x_1,...,x_n]$, and the equality $𝒥\left({𝔞}^c\right)=𝔞$ implies that $0<c<n+1$. We mainly discuss the problem when $𝒥\left(𝔞\right)=𝔞$ or $𝒥\left({𝔞}^{n+1-\epsilon }\right)=𝔞$ for all $0<\epsilon <1$. It is proved that if $𝒥\left(𝔞\right)=𝔞$ then $𝔞$ is principal, and if $𝒥\left({𝔞}^{n+1-\epsilon }\right)=𝔞$ holds for all $0<\epsilon <1$ then $𝔞=(x_1,...,x_n)$. One global result is also obtained. In questa Nota, dati uno spazio metrico perfetto $X$ ed un suo sottoinsieme $K$ chiuso e raro, si dimostra l'esistenza di una funzione continua $f:X\to [0,1]$ tale che $int(f^{-1}(t))=\mathrm{\varnothing }$ per ogni $t\in [0,1]$, $f(x)=0$ per ogni $x\in K$ e $f(y)=1$ per qualche $y\in X\setminus K$. In particolare, ciò permette di dare risposta simultaneamente a due questioni poste in [2]. Si mettono in evidenza, poi, ulteriori conseguenze di tale risultato.

The sequence of balancing numbers $\left(B_n\right)$ is defined by the recurrence relation $B_n=6B_{n-1}-B_{n-2}$ for $n\ge 2$ with initial conditions $B_0=0$ and $B_1=1.$ $B_n$ is called the $n$th balancing number. In this paper, we find all repdigits in the base $b,$ which are sums of four balancing numbers. As a result of our theorem, we state that if $B_n$ is repdigit in the base $b$ and has at least two digits, then $(n,b)=(2,5),(3,6)$. Namely, $B_2=6={\left(11\right)}_5$ and $B_3=35={\left(55\right)}_6.$
