In this paper, we show the backward uniqueness in time of solutions to nonlinear integro-differential systems with Neumann or Dirichlet boundary conditions. We also discuss reasonable physical interpretations for our conclusions.

Bifurcation theory of the time-dependent von Kármán equations

In this paper the author studies existence and bifurcation of a nonlinear homogeneous Volterra integral equation, which is derived as the first approximation for the solution of the time dependent generalization of the von Kármán equations. The last system serves as a model for stability (instability) of a thin rectangular visco-elastic plate whose two opposite edges are subjected to a constant loading which depends on the parameters of proportionality of this boundary loading.

Blow-up behavior in nonlocal vs local heat equations

We present some recent results on the blow-up behavior of solutions of heat equations with nonlocal nonlinearities. These results concern blow-up sets, rates and profiles. We then compare them with the corresponding results in the local case, and we show that the two types of problems exhibit "dual" blow-up behaviors.
