Strongly rectifiable and S-homogeneous modules

Libuše Tesková (2000)

Discussiones Mathematicae - General Algebra and Applications

In this paper we introduce the class of strongly rectifiable and S-homogeneous modules. We study basic properties of these modules, of their pure and refined submodules, of Hill's modules and we also prove an extension of the second Prüfer's theorem.

Strongly simply connected coil algebras

Flávio U. Coelho, Ma. I. R. Martins, Bertha Tomé (2004)

Colloquium Mathematicae

We study the simple connectedness and strong simple connectedness of the following classes of algebras: (tame) coil enlargements of tame concealed algebras and n-iterated coil enlargement algebras.

Structure of central torsion Iwasawa modules

Susan Howson (2002)

Bulletin de la Société Mathématique de France

We describe an approach to determining, up to pseudoisomorphism, the structure of a central-torsion module over the Iwasawa algebra of a pro- p , p -adic, Lie group containing no element of order p . The techniques employed follow classical methods used in the commutative case, but using Ore’s method of localisation. We then consider the properties of certain invariants which may prove useful in determining the structure of a module. Finally, we describe the case of pro- p subgroups of GL 2 ( p ) in detail and...

Structure of the unit group of the group algebras of non-metabelian groups of order 128

Navamanirajan Abhilash, Elumalai Nandakumar, Rajendra K. Sharma, Gaurav Mittal (2025)

Mathematica Bohemica

We characterize the unit group for the group algebras of non-metabelian groups of order 128 over the finite fields whose characteristic does not divide the order of the group. Up to isomorphism, there are 2328 groups of order 128 and only 14 of them are non-metabelian. We determine the Wedderburn decomposition of the group algebras of these non-metabelian groups and subsequently characterize their unit groups.

Structure theory for the group algebra of the symmetric group, with applications to polynomial identities for the octonions

Murray R. Bremner, Sara Madariaga, Luiz A. Peresi (2016)

Commentationes Mathematicae Universitatis Carolinae

This is a survey paper on applications of the representation theory of the symmetric group to the theory of polynomial identities for associative and nonassociative algebras. In §1, we present a detailed review (with complete proofs) of the classical structure theory of the group algebra 𝔽 S n of the symmetric group S n over a field 𝔽 of characteristic 0 (or p > n ). The goal is to obtain a constructive version of the isomorphism ψ : λ M d λ ( 𝔽 ) 𝔽 S n where λ is a partition of n and d λ counts the standard tableaux of shape λ ....

Sturdy frames of type (2,2) algebras and their applications to semirings

X. Z. Zhao, Y. Q. Guo, K. P. Shum (2003)

Fundamenta Mathematicae

We introduce sturdy frames of type (2,2) algebras, which are a common generalization of sturdy semilattices of semigroups and of distributive lattices of rings in the theory of semirings. By using sturdy frames, we are able to characterize some semirings. In particular, some results on semirings recently obtained by Bandelt, Petrich and Ghosh can be extended and generalized.
