Holomorphic extension maps for spaces of Whitney jets.

Jean Schmets, Manuel Valdivia (2001)

RACSAM

The key result (Theorem 1) provides the existence of a holomorphic approximation map for some space of C∞-functions on an open subset of Rn. This leads to results about the existence of a continuous linear extension map from the space of the Whitney jets on a closed subset F of Rn into a space of holomorphic functions on an open subset D of Cn such that D ∩ Rn = RnF.

Homeomorphisms acting on Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces of local regularity ψ(t).

Silvia I. Hartzstein, Beatriz E. Viviani (2005)

Collectanea Mathematica

The aim of this paper is to show that the integral and derivative operators defined by local regularities are homeomorphisms for generalized Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces with local regularities. The underlying geometry is that of homogeneous type spaces and the functions defining local regularities belong to a larger class of growth functions than the potentials tα, related to classical fractional integral and derivative operators and Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces.

Homogenization of periodic nonconvex integral functionals in terms of Young measures

Omar Anza Hafsa, Jean-Philippe Mandallena, Gérard Michaille (2006)

ESAIM: Control, Optimisation and Calculus of Variations

Homogenization of periodic functionals, whose integrands possess possibly multi-well structure, is treated in terms of Young measures. More precisely, we characterize the Γ -limit of sequences of such functionals in the set of Young measures, extending the relaxation theorem of Kinderlherer and Pedregal. We also make precise the relationship between our homogenized density and the classical one.

How smooth is almost every function in a Sobolev space?

Aurélia Fraysse, Stéphane Jaffard (2006)

Revista Matemática Iberoamericana

We show that almost every function (in the sense of prevalence) in a Sobolev space is multifractal: Its regularity changes from point to point; the sets of points with a given Hölder regularity are fractal sets, and we determine their Hausdorff dimension.

Images of some functions and functional spaces under the Dunkl-Hermite semigroup

Néjib Ben Salem, Walid Nefzi (2013)

Commentationes Mathematicae Universitatis Carolinae

We propose the study of some questions related to the Dunkl-Hermite semigroup. Essentially, we characterize the images of the Dunkl-Hermite-Sobolev space, 𝒮 ( ) and L α p ( ) , 1 < p < , under the Dunkl-Hermite semigroup. Also, we consider the image of the space of tempered distributions and we give Paley-Wiener type theorems for the transforms given by the Dunkl-Hermite semigroup.

Imbedding theorems of Sobolev spaces into Lorentz spaces

Luc Tartar (1998)

Bollettino dell'Unione Matematica Italiana

Improved estimates for the Ginzburg-Landau equation : the elliptic case

Fabrice Bethuel, Giandomenico Orlandi, Didier Smets (2005)

Annali della Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa - Classe di Scienze

We derive estimates for various quantities which are of interest in the analysis of the Ginzburg-Landau equation, and which we bound in terms of the G L -energy E ε and the parameter ε . These estimates are local in nature, and in particular independent of any boundary condition. Most of them improve and extend earlier results on the subject.
