Moltiplicatori spettrali per l'operatore di Ornstein-Uhlenbeck

Giancarlo Mauceri (2004)

Bollettino dell'Unione Matematica Italiana

Multipliers of Hardy spaces, quadratic integrals and Foiaş-Williams-Peller operators

G. Blower (1998)

Studia Mathematica

We obtain a sufficient condition on a B(H)-valued function φ for the operator Γ φ ' ( S ) to be completely bounded on H B ( H ) ; the Foiaş-Williams-Peller operator | St Γφ | Rφ = | | | 0 S | is then similar to a contraction. We show that if ⨍ : D → B(H) is a bounded analytic function for which ( 1 - r ) | | ' ( r e i θ ) | | B ( H ) 2 r d r d θ and ( 1 - r ) | | " ( r e i θ ) | | B ( H ) r d r d θ are Carleson measures, then ⨍ multiplies ( H 1 c 1 ) ' to itself. Such ⨍ form an algebra A, and when φ’∈ BMO(B(H)), the map Γ φ ' ( S ) is bounded A B ( H 2 ( H ) , L 2 ( H ) H 2 ( H ) ) . Thus we construct a functional calculus for operators of Foiaş-Williams-Peller type.

Multivariate spectral multipliers for systems of Ornstein-Uhlenbeck operators

Błażej Wróbel (2013)

Studia Mathematica

Multivariate spectral multipliers for systems of Ornstein-Uhlenbeck operators are studied. We prove that L p -uniform, 1 < p < ∞, spectral multipliers extend to holomorphic functions in some subset of a polysector, depending on p. We also characterize L¹-uniform spectral multipliers and prove a Marcinkiewicz-type multiplier theorem. In the appendix we obtain analogous results for systems of Laguerre operators.

Non-holomorphic functional calculus for commuting operators with real spectrum

Mats Andersson, Bo Berndtsson (2002)

Annali della Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa - Classe di Scienze

We consider n -tuples of commuting operators a = a 1 , ... , a n on a Banach space with real spectra. The holomorphic functional calculus for a is extended to algebras of ultra-differentiable functions on n , depending on the growth of exp ( i a · t ) , t n , when | t | . In the non-quasi-analytic case we use the usual Fourier transform, whereas for the quasi-analytic case we introduce a variant of the FBI transform, adapted to ultradifferentiable classes.

Null spaces and ranges of polynomials of operators.

Manuel González (1988)

Publicacions Matemàtiques

We give an elementary proof of the fact that given two polynomials P, Q without common zeros and a linear operator A, the operators P(A) and Q(A) verify some properties equivalent to the pair (P(A),Q(A)) being non-singular in the sense of J.L. Taylor. From these properties we derive expressions for the range and null space of P(A) and spectral mapping theorems for polynomials fo continuous (or closed) operators in Banach spaces.

On a theorem of Vesentini

Gerd Herzog, Christoph Schmoeger (2004)

Studia Mathematica

Let 𝒜 be a Banach algebra over ℂ with unit 1 and 𝑓: ℂ → ℂ an entire function. Let 𝐟: 𝒜 → 𝒜 be defined by 𝐟(a) = 𝑓(a) (a ∈ 𝒜), where 𝑓(a) is given by the usual analytic calculus. The connections between the periods of 𝑓 and the periods of 𝐟 are settled by a theorem of E. Vesentini. We give a new proof of this theorem and investigate further properties of periods of 𝐟, for example in C*-algebras.

On an estimate for the norm of a function of a quasihermitian operator

M. Gil (1992)

Studia Mathematica

Let A be a closed linear operator acting in a separable Hilbert space. Denote by co(A) the closed convex hull of the spectrum of A. An estimate for the norm of f(A) is obtained under the following conditions: f is a holomorphic function in a neighbourhood of co(A), and for some integer p the operator A p - ( A * ) p is Hilbert-Schmidt. The estimate improves one by I. Gelfand and G. Shilov.

On an integral of fractional power operators

Nick Dungey (2009)

Colloquium Mathematicae

For a bounded and sectorial linear operator V in a Banach space, with spectrum in the open unit disc, we study the operator V ̃ = 0 d α V α . We show, for example, that Ṽ is sectorial, and asymptotically of type 0. If V has single-point spectrum 0, then Ṽ is of type 0 with a single-point spectrum, and the operator I-Ṽ satisfies the Ritt resolvent condition. These results generalize an example of Lyubich, who studied the case where V is a classical Volterra operator.
