We give the characterization of the unit group of ${𝔽}_{q}SL(2,{\mathbb{Z}}_5)$, where ${𝔽}_q$ is a finite field with $q=p^k$ elements for prime $p>5,$ and $SL(2,{\mathbb{Z}}_5)$ denotes the special linear group of $2\times 2$ matrices having determinant $1$ over the cyclic group ${\mathbb{Z}}_5$.

Let $G$ be a group generated by a set of finite order elements. We prove that any bicrossed product $H_{m,d}\left(q\right)\bowtie k\left[G\right]$ between the generalized Taft algebra $H_{m,d}\left(q\right)$ and group algebra $k\left[G\right]$ is actually the smash product $H_{m,d}\left(q\right)♯k\left[G\right]$. Then we show that the classification of these smash products could be reduced to the description of the group automorphisms of $G$. As an application, the classification of $H_{m,d}\left(q\right)\bowtie k[C_{n_1}\times C_{n_2}]$ is completely presented by generators and relations, where $C_n$ denotes the $n$-cyclic group.

Let $H\subseteq Z\subseteq 2^{\omega }$. For n ≥ 2, we prove that if Selivanovski measurable functions from $2^{\omega }$ to Z give as preimages of H all Σₙ¹ subsets of $2^{\omega }$, then so do continuous injections.

Let $A_{pq}^s$ be either $B_{pq}^s$ or $F_{pq}^s$ (s ∈ ℝ, 0 < p < ∞, 0 < q ≤ ∞) on ${ℝ}^n.$ The aim of the paper is to clarify under what conditions $\parallel f^j|A_{pq}^s\parallel$ is equivalent to $2^{j(s-n/p)}({\sum }_k|a_k{|}^p{)}^{1/p}\parallel f|A_{pq}^s\parallel$.

A directed Cayley graph $C(\Gamma ,X)$ is specified by a group $\Gamma$ and an identity-free generating set $X$ for this group. Vertices of $C(\Gamma ,X)$ are elements of $\Gamma$ and there is a directed edge from the vertex $u$ to the vertex $v$ in $C(\Gamma ,X)$ if and only if there is a generator $x\in X$ such that $ux=v$. We study graphs $C(\Gamma ,X)$ for the direct product $Z_m\times Z_n$ of two cyclic groups $Z_m$ and $Z_n$, and the generating set $X=\left\{\right(0,1),(1,0),(2,0),\cdots ,(p,0\left)\right\}$. We present resolving sets which yield upper bounds on the metric dimension of these graphs for $p=2$ and $3$.

In a Tychonoff space $X$, the point $p\in X$ is called a $C^{*}$-point if every real-valued continuous function on $C\setminus \left\{p\right\}$ can be extended continuously to $p$. We show that every operator from ${\ell }_s$ to ${\ell }_p\otimes ̂{\ell }_q$ is compact when 1 ≤ p,q < s and that every operator from ${\ell }_s$ to ${\ell }_p\widehat{\otimes ̂}{\ell }_q$ is compact when 1/p + 1/q > 1 + 1/s.

We prove that for a normed linear space $X$, if $f_1:X\to ℝ$ is continuous and semiconvex with modulus $\omega$, $f_2:X\to ℝ$ is continuous and semiconcave with modulus $\omega$ and $f_1\le f_2$, then there exists $f\in C^{1,\omega }\left(X\right)$ such that $f_1\le f\le f_2$. Using this result we prove a generalization of Ilmanen lemma (which deals with the case $\omega \left(t\right)=t$) to the case of an arbitrary nontrivial modulus $\omega$. Given a coarse space $(X,ℰ)$ with the bornology $ℬ$ of bounded subsets, we extend the coarse structure $ℰ$ from $X\times X$ to the natural coarse structure on $(ℬ\setminus \{\varnothing \left\}\right)\times (ℬ\setminus \{\varnothing \left\}\right)$ and say that a macro-uniform mapping $f:(ℬ\setminus \{\varnothing \left\}\right)\to X$ (or $f:{\left[X\right]}^2\to X$) is a selector (or 2-selector) of $(X,ℰ)$ if $f\left(A\right)\in A$ for each $A\in ℬ\setminus \left\{\varnothing \right\}$ ($A\in {\left[X\right]}^2$, respectively). We show that any ${\Sigma }_s$-product of at most $𝔠$-many $L\Sigma (\le \omega )$-spaces has the $L\Sigma (\le \omega )$-property. This result generalizes some known results about $L\Sigma (\le \omega )$-spaces.
