Trichotomy and bounded solutions of nonlinear differential equations

Mieczysław Cichoń (1994)

Mathematica Bohemica

The existence of bounded solutions for equations x ' = A ( t ) x + f ( t , x ) in Banach spaces is proved. We assume that the linear part is trichotomic and the perturbation f satisfies some conditions expressed in terms of measures of noncompactness.

Two separation criteria for second order ordinary or partial differential operators

Richard C. Brown, Don B. Hinton (1999)

Mathematica Bohemica

We generalize a well-known separation condition of Everitt and Giertz to a class of weighted symmetric partial differential operators defined on domains in n . Also, for symmetric second-order ordinary differential operators we show that lim sup t c ( p q ' ) ' / q 2 = θ < 2 where c is a singular point guarantees separation of - ( p y ' ) ' + q y on its minimal domain and extend this criterion to the partial differential setting. As a particular example it is shown that - Δ y + q y is separated on its minimal domain if q is superharmonic. For n = 1 the criterion...

Two-mode bifurcation in solution of a perturbed nonlinear fourth order differential equation

Ahmed Abbas Mizeal, Mudhir A. Abdul Hussain (2012)

Archivum Mathematicum

In this paper, we are interested in the study of bifurcation solutions of nonlinear wave equation of elastic beams located on elastic foundations with small perturbation by using local method of Lyapunov-Schmidt.We showed that the bifurcation equation corresponding to the elastic beams equation is given by the nonlinear system of two equations. Also, we found the parameters equation of the Discriminant set of the specified problem as well as the bifurcation diagram.

Two-point oscillatory solutions to system with relay hysteresis and nonperiodic external disturbance

Alexander M. Kamachkin, Dmitriy K. Potapov, Victoria V. Yevstafyeva (2024)

Applications of Mathematics

We study an n -dimensional system of ordinary differential equations with a constant matrix, a relay-type nonlinearity, and an external disturbance in the right-hand side. We consider a nonideal relay characteristic. The external disturbance is described by the product of an exponential function and a sine function with an initial phase as a parameter. We assume the matrix of the linear part and the vector at the relay characteristic such that, by a nonsingular transformation, the system is reduced...
