Necessary and sufficient conditions for the local solvability in hyperfunctions of a class of systems of complex vector fields.
Local and global Carleman estimates play a central role in the study of some partial differential equations regarding questions such as unique continuation and controllability. We survey and prove such estimates in the case of elliptic and parabolic operators by means of semi-classical microlocal techniques. Optimality results for these estimates and some of their consequences are presented. We point out the connexion of these optimality results to the local phase-space geometry after conjugation...

We study the microlocal analyticity of solutions of the nonlinear equationwhere is complex-valued, real analytic in all its arguments and holomorphic in . We show that if the function is a solution, and or if is a solution, , , and , then . Here denotes the analytic wave-front set of and Char is the characteristic set of the linearized operator. When , we prove a more general result involving the repeated brackets of and of any order.
We study the internal stabilization and control of the critical nonlinear Klein-Gordon equation on 3-D compact manifolds. Under a geometric assumption slightly stronger than the classical geometric control condition, we prove exponential decay for some solutions bounded in the energy space but small in a lower norm. The proof combines profile decomposition and microlocal arguments. This profile decomposition, analogous to the one of Bahouri-Gérard [2] on , is performed by taking care of possible...
We first introduce the notion of microdifferential operators of WKB type and then develop their exact WKB analysis using microlocal analysis; a recursive way of constructing a WKB solution for such an operator is given through the symbol calculus of microdifferential operators, and their local structure near their turning points is discussed by a Weierstrass-type division theorem for such operators. A detailed study of the Berk-Book equation is given in Appendix.
