Let K be the Cantor set. We prove that arbitrarily close to a homeomorphism T: K → K there exists a homeomorphism T̃: K → K such that the ω-limit of every orbit is a periodic orbit. We also prove that arbitrarily close to an endomorphism T: K → K there exists an endomorphism T̃: K → K with every orbit finally periodic.
Non-linearity is essential for occurrence of chaos in dynamical system. The size of phase space and formation of attractors are much dependent on the setting of nonlinear function and parameters. In this paper, a three-variable dynamical system is controlled by different nonlinear function thus a class of chaotic system is presented, the Hamilton function is calculated to find the statistical dynamical property of the improved dynamical systems composed of hidden attractors. The standard dynamical...
In this article a method is presented to find systematically the domain of attraction (DOA) of hybrid non-linear systems. It has already been shown that there exists a sequence of special kind of Lyapunov functions in a rational functional form approximating a maximal Lyapunov function that can be used to find an estimation for the DOA. Based on this idea, an improved method has been developed and implemented in a Mathematica-package to find such Lyapunov functions for a class of hybrid (piecewise...
Let f: X→ X be a topologically transitive continuous map of a compact metric space X. We investigate whether f can have the following stronger properties: (i) for each m ∈ ℕ, is transitive, (ii) for each m ∈ ℕ, there exists x ∈ X such that the diagonal m-tuple (x,x,...,x) has a dense orbit in under the action of . We show that (i), (ii) and weak mixing are equivalent for minimal homeomorphisms, that all mixing interval maps satisfy (ii), and that there are mixing subshifts not satisfying (ii)....
We present a generalization of topological transition matrices introduced in [6].
We define thin equivalence relations ∼ on shift spaces and derive Dirichlet forms on the quotient space in terms of the nearest neighbour averaging operator. We identify the associated Laplace operator. The conditions are applied to some non-self-similar extensions of the Sierpiński gasket.

where is the Frobenius-Perron operator associated with a nonsingular Markov map defined on a σ-finite measure space, are studied for g ∈ G = f ∈ L¹: f ≥ 0 and ⃦f ⃦ = 1. An operator-theoretic analogue of Rényi’s Condition is introduced. It is proved that under some additional assumptions this condition implies the L¹-convergence of the sequences (a) and (b) to a unique g₀ ∈ G. The general result is applied to some smooth Markov maps in ....
Schweizer and Smítal introduced the distributional chaos for continuous maps of the interval in B. Schweizer, J. Smítal, Measures of chaos and a spectral decomposition of dynamical systems on the interval. Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 344 (1994), 737–854. In this paper, we discuss the distributional chaos DC1–DC3 for flows on compact metric spaces. We prove that both the distributional chaos DC1 and DC2 of a flow are equivalent to the time-1 maps and so some properties of DC1 and DC2 for discrete systems...
Let , , and let be a continuous map having the branching point fixed. We prove that is distributionally chaotic iff the topological entropy of is positive.
We set up a general correspondence between algebraic properties of βℕ and sets defined by dynamical properties. In particular, we obtain a dynamical characterization of C-sets, i.e., sets satisfying the strong Central Sets Theorem. As an application, we show that Rado systems are solvable in C-sets.
This survey aims at giving a consistent presentation of numeration from a dynamical viewpoint: we focus on numeration systems, their associated compactification, and dynamical systems that can be naturally defined on them. The exposition is unified by the fibred numeration system concept. Many examples are discussed. Various numerations on rational integers, real or complex numbers are presented with special attention paid to -numeration and its generalisations, abstract numeration systems and...
A method is developed for proving non-amenability of certain automorphism groups of countable structures and is used to show that the automorphism groups of the random poset and random distributive lattice are not amenable. The universal minimal flow of the automorphism group of the random distributive lattice is computed as a canonical space of linear orderings but it is also shown that the class of finite distributive lattices does not admit hereditary order expansions with the Amalgamation Property....
This survey is an introduction to some of the methods, techniques and concepts from algebraic topology and related areas (homotopy theory, shape theory) which can be fruitfully applied to study problems concerning continuous dynamical systems. To this end two instances which exemplify the interaction between topology and dynamics are considered, namely, Conley’s index theory and the study of some properties of certain attractors.
We exhibit a family of dynamical systems arising from rational points on elliptic curves in an attempt to mimic the familiar toral automorphisms. At the non-archimedean primes, a continuous map is constructed on the local elliptic curve whose topological entropy is given by the local canonical height. Also, a precise formula for the periodic points is given. There follows a discussion of how these local results may be glued together to give a map on the adelic curve. We are able to give a map whose...
A chainable continuum, X, and homeomorphisms, p,q: X → X, are constructed with the following properties:
(1) p ∘ q = q ∘ p,
(2) p, q have simple dynamics,
(3) p ∘ q is a positively continuum-wise fully expansive homeomorphism that has positive entropy and is chaotic in the sense of Devaney and in the sense of Li and Yorke.
