Generalized D-Symmetric Operators I

Bouali, S., Ech-chad, M. (2008)

Serdica Mathematical Journal

2000 Mathematics Subject Classification: Primary: 47B47, 47B10; secondary 47A30.Let H be an infinite-dimensional complex Hilbert space and let A, B ∈ L(H), where L(H) is the algebra of operators on H into itself. Let δAB: L(H) → L(H) denote the generalized derivation δAB(X) = AX − XB. This note will initiate a study on the class of pairs (A,B) such that [‾(R(δAB))] = [‾(R(δB*A*))]; i.e. [‾(R(δAB))] is self-adjoint.

Generalized Lions-Peetre methods of constants and means and operator ideals.

Antonio Manzano, Mieczyslaw Mastylo (2007)

Collectanea Mathematica

We establish results on interpolation of Rosenthal operators, Banach-Saks operators, Asplund operators and weakly compact operators by means of generalized Lions-Peetre methods of constants and means. Applications are presented for the K-method space generated by the Calderón-Lozanovskii space parameters.

Hilbert space factorization and Fourier type of operators

Aicke Hinrichs (2001)

Studia Mathematica

It is an open question whether every Fourier type 2 operator factors through a Hilbert space. We show that at least the natural gradations of Fourier type 2 norms and Hilbert space factorization norms are not uniformly equivalent. A corresponding result is also obtained for a number of other sequences of ideal norms instead of the Fourier type 2 gradation including the Walsh function analogue of Fourier type. Our main tools are ideal norms and random matrices.

Hilbert-Schmidt Hankel operators with anti-holomorphic symbols on complete pseudoconvex Reinhardt domains

Mehmet Çelik, Yunus E. Zeytuncu (2017)

Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal

On complete pseudoconvex Reinhardt domains in 2 , we show that there is no nonzero Hankel operator with anti-holomorphic symbol that is Hilbert-Schmidt. In the proof, we explicitly use the pseudoconvexity property of the domain. We also present two examples of unbounded non-pseudoconvex domains in 2 that admit nonzero Hilbert-Schmidt Hankel operators with anti-holomorphic symbols. In the first example the Bergman space is finite dimensional. However, in the second example the Bergman space is infinite...

Hölder's inequality for roots of symmetric operator spaces

Ken Dykema, Anna Skripka (2015)

Studia Mathematica

We prove a version of Hölder's inequality with a constant for pth roots of symmetric operator spaces of operators affiliated to a semifinite von Neumann algebra factor, and with constant equal to 1 for strongly symmetric operator spaces.

Holomorphy types and ideals of multilinear mappings

G. Botelho, H.-A. Braunss, H. Junek, D. Pellegrino (2006)

Studia Mathematica

We explore a condition under which the ideal of polynomials generated by an ideal of multilinear mappings between Banach spaces is a global holomorphy type. After some examples and applications, this condition is studied in its own right. A final section provides applications to the ideals formed by multilinear mappings and polynomials which are absolutely (p;q)-summing at every point.

Ideals of homogeneous polynomials and weakly compact approximation property in Banach spaces

Erhan Çalışkan (2007)

Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal

We show that a Banach space E has the weakly compact approximation property if and only if each continuous Banach-valued polynomial on E can be uniformly approximated on compact sets by homogeneous polynomials which are members of the ideal of homogeneous polynomials generated by weakly compact linear operators. An analogous result is established also for the compact approximation property.
