Spaces with star countable extent

A. D. Rojas-Sánchez, Angel Tamariz-Mascarúa (2016)

Commentationes Mathematicae Universitatis Carolinae

For a topological property P , we say that a space X is star P if for every open cover 𝒰 of the space X there exists A X such that s t ( A , 𝒰 ) = X . We consider space with star countable extent establishing the relations between the star countable extent property and the properties star Lindelöf and feebly Lindelöf. We describe some classes of spaces in which the star countable extent property is equivalent to either the Lindelöf property or separability. An example is given of a Tychonoff star Lindelöf space with...

Spaces with σ -locally countable weak-bases

Zhaowen Li (2006)

Archivum Mathematicum

In this paper, spaces with σ -locally countable weak-bases are characterized as the weakly open msss-images of metric spaces (or g -first countable spaces with σ -locally countable c s -networks).

Spaces X in which all prime z -ideals of C ( X ) are minimal or maximal

Melvin Henriksen, Jorge Martinez, Grant R. Woods (2003)

Commentationes Mathematicae Universitatis Carolinae

Quasi P -spaces are defined to be those Tychonoff spaces X such that each prime z -ideal of C ( X ) is either minimal or maximal. This article is devoted to a systematic study of these spaces, which are an obvious generalization of P -spaces. The compact quasi P -spaces are characterized as the compact spaces which are scattered and of Cantor-Bendixson index no greater than 2. A thorough account of locally compact quasi P -spaces is given. If X is a cozero-complemented space and every nowhere dense zeroset...

Spectral Calculus and Lipschitz Extension for Barycentric Metric Spaces

Manor Mendel, Assaf Naor (2013)

Analysis and Geometry in Metric Spaces

The metric Markov cotype of barycentric metric spaces is computed, yielding the first class of metric spaces that are not Banach spaces for which this bi-Lipschitz invariant is understood. It is shown that this leads to new nonlinear spectral calculus inequalities, as well as a unified framework for Lipschitz extension, including new Lipschitz extension results for CAT (0) targets. An example that elucidates the relation between metric Markov cotype and Rademacher cotype is analyzed, showing that...

Splittability for ordered topological spaces

Dermot J. Marron, T. Brian M. McMaster (2000)

Bollettino dell'Unione Matematica Italiana
