In this paper, some new results on complete convergence and complete moment convergence for sequences of pairwise negatively quadrant dependent random variables are presented. These results improve the corresponding theorems of S. X. Gan, P. Y. Chen (2008) and H. Y. Liang, C. Su (1999).
We prove the complete convergence of Shannon’s, paired, genetic and α-entropy for random partitions of the unit segment. We also derive exact expressions for expectations and variances of the above entropies using special functions.
Continuous time random walks with jump sizes equal to the corresponding waiting times for jumps are considered. Sufficient conditions for the weak convergence of such processes are established and the limiting processes are identified. Furthermore one-dimensional distributions of the limiting processes are given under an additional assumption.
We study the long time behavior (homogenization) of a diffusion in random medium with time and space dependent coefficients. The diffusion coefficient may degenerate. In Stochastic Process. Appl. (2007) (to appear), an invariance principle is proved for the critical rescaling of the diffusion. Here, we generalize this approach to diffusions whose space-time scaling differs from the critical one.
