A chaos-based secure cluster protocol for wireless sensor networks

Qian Fang, Ying Liu, Xiaoqun Zhao (2008)

Kybernetika

Security mechanisms for wireless sensor networks (WSN) face a great challenge due to the restriction of their small sizes and limited energy. Hence, many protocols for WSN are not designed with the consideration of security. Chaotic cryptosystems have the advantages of high security and little cost of time and space, so this paper proposes a secure cluster routing protocol based on chaotic encryption as well as a conventional symmetric encryption scheme. First, a principal-subordinate chaotic function...

A discretization method for the problem of a membrane constrained by elastic obstacle

Aldo Maceri (1984)

Atti della Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali. Rendiconti Lincei. Matematica e Applicazioni

A Dynamic Frictionless Contact Problem with Adhesion and Damage

Mohamed Selmani, Lynda Selmani (2007)

Bulletin of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Mathematics

We consider a dynamic frictionless contact problem for a viscoelastic material with damage. The contact is modeled with normal compliance condition. The adhesion of the contact surfaces is considered and is modeled with a surface variable, the bonding field, whose evolution is described by a first order differential equation. We establish a variational formulation for the problem and prove the existence and uniqueness of the solution. The proofs are based on the theory of evolution equations with...

A finite element analysis for elastoplastic bodies obeying Hencky's law

Ivan Hlaváček (1981)

Aplikace matematiky

Using the Haar-Kármán principle, approximate solutions of the basic boundary value problems are proposed and studied, which consist of piecewise linear stress fields on composite triangles. The torsion problem is solved in an analogous manner. Some convergence results are proven.

A frictional contact problem with adhesion for viscoelastic materials with long memory

Abderrezak Kasri (2021)

Applications of Mathematics

We consider a quasistatic contact problem between a viscoelastic material with long-term memory and a foundation. The contact is modelled with a normal compliance condition, a version of Coulomb's law of dry friction and a bonding field which describes the adhesion effect. We derive a variational formulation of the mechanical problem and, under a smallness assumption, we establish an existence theorem of a weak solution including a regularity result. The proof is based on the time-discretization...

A mathematical model of suspension bridges

Gabriela Liţcanu (2004)

Applications of Mathematics

We prove the existence of weak T-periodic solutions for a nonlinear mathematical model associated with suspension bridges. Under further assumptions a regularity result is also given.

A mechanochemical model of angiogenesis and vasculogenesis

Daphne Manoussaki (2003)

ESAIM: Mathematical Modelling and Numerical Analysis - Modélisation Mathématique et Analyse Numérique

Vasculogenesis and angiogenesis are two different mechanisms for blood vessel formation. Angiogenesis occurs when new vessels sprout from pre-existing vasculature in response to external chemical stimuli. Vasculogenesis occurs via the reorganization of randomly distributed cells into a blood vessel network. Experimental models of vasculogenesis have suggested that the cells exert traction forces onto the extracellular matrix and that these forces may play an important role in the network forming...
