On extendability of invariant distributions

Bogdan Ziemian (2000)

Annales Polonici Mathematici

In this paper sufficient conditions are given in order that every distribution invariant under a Lie group extend from the set of orbits of maximal dimension to the whole of the space. It is shown that these conditions are satisfied for the n-point action of the pure Lorentz group and for a standard action of the Lorentz group of arbitrary signature.

On formal theory of differential equations. III.

Jan Chrastina (1991)

Mathematica Bohemica

Elements of the general theory of Lie-Cartan pseudogroups (including the intransitive case) are developed within the framework of infinitely prolonged systems of partial differential equations (diffieties) which makes it independent of any particular realizations by transformations of geometric object. Three axiomatic approaches, the concepts of essential invariant, subgroup, normal subgroup and factorgroups are discussed. The existence of a very special canonical composition series based on Cauchy...

On Gaussian kernel estimates on groups

Nick Dungey (2004)

Colloquium Mathematicae

We give new and simple sufficient conditions for Gaussian upper bounds for a convolution semigroup on a unimodular locally compact group. These conditions involve certain semigroup estimates in L²(G). We describe an application for estimates of heat kernels of complex subelliptic operators on unimodular Lie groups.

On groups with linear sci growth

Louis Funar, Martha Giannoudovardi, Daniele Ettore Otera (2015)

Fundamenta Mathematicae

We prove that the semistability growth of hyperbolic groups is linear, which implies that hyperbolic groups which are sci (simply connected at infinity) have linear sci growth. Based on the linearity of the end-depth of finitely presented groups we show that the linear sci is preserved under amalgamated products over finitely generated one-ended groups. Eventually one proves that most non-uniform lattices have linear sci.

On hierarchy of the positioned eco-grammar systems

Miroslav Langer (2014)

Kybernetika

Positioned eco-grammar systems (PEG systems, for short) were introduced in our previous papers. In this paper we engage in a new field of research, the hierarchy of PEG systems, namely in the hierarchy of the PEG systems according to the number of agents presented in the environment and according to the number of types of agents in the system.

On infinite Lie groups

Alexandre A. Martins Rodrigues (1981)

Annales de l'institut Fourier

Under some regularity conditions one proves that quotients and kernels of infinitesimal analytic Lie pseudo-groups by invariant fiberings are again infinitesimal Lie pseudo-groups. The regularity conditions are shown to be necessary and sufficient if one wishes both quotient and kernel to be infinitesimal Lie pseudo-groups. One defines and proves the existence of the quotient of an infinitesimal Lie pseudo-group by a normal sub-pseudo group. An equivalence relation for germs of infinitesimal Lie...
