Continuity and convergence properties of extremal interpolating disks.

Pascal J. Thomas (1995)

Publicacions Matemàtiques

Let a be a sequence of points in the unit ball of Cn. Eric Amar and the author have introduced the nonnegative quantity ρ(a) = infα infk Πj:j≠k dG(αj, αk), where dG is the Gleason distance in the unit disk and the first infimum is taken over all sequences α in the unit disk which map to a by a map from the disk to the ball. The value of ρ(a) is related to whether a is an interpolating sequence with respect to analytic disks passing through it, and if a is an interpolating sequence in the ball, then...

Deformation of holomorphic maps onto Fano manifolds of second and fourth Betti numbers 1

Jun-Muk Hwang (2007)

Annales de l’institut Fourier

Let X be a Fano manifold with b 2 = 1 different from the projective space such that any two surfaces in X have proportional fundamental classes in H 4 ( X , C ) . Let f : Y X be a surjective holomorphic map from a projective variety Y . We show that all deformations of f with Y and X fixed, come from automorphisms of X . The proof is obtained by studying the geometry of the integral varieties of the multi-valued foliation defined by the variety of minimal rational tangents of X .

Differences of weighted composition operators from Hardy space to weighted-type spaces on the unit ball

Ze-Hua Zhou, Yu-Xia Liang (2012)

Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal

In this paper, we limit our analysis to the difference of the weighted composition operators acting from the Hardy space to weighted-type space in the unit ball of N , and give some necessary and sufficient conditions for their boundedness or compactness. The results generalize the corresponding results on the single weighted composition operators and on the differences of composition operators, for example, M. Lindström and E. Wolf: Essential norm of the difference of weighted composition operators....

Extending holomorphic mappings from subvarieties in Stein manifolds

Franc Forstneric (2005)

Annales de l’institut Fourier

Suppose that Y is a complex manifold such that any holomorphic map from a compact convex set in a Euclidean space n to Y is a uniform limit of entire maps n Y . We prove that a holomorphic map X 0 Y from a closed complex subvariety X 0 in a Stein manifold X admits a holomorphic extension X Y provided that it admits a continuous extension. We then establish the equivalence of four Oka-type properties of a complex manifold.

Generalized iterated function systems, multifunctions and Cantor sets

Maciej Klimek, Marta Kosek (2009)

Annales Polonici Mathematici

Using a construction similar to an iterated function system, but with functions changing at each step of iteration, we provide a natural example of a continuous one-parameter family of holomorphic functions of infinitely many variables. This family is parametrized by the compact space of positive integer sequences of prescribed growth and hence it can also be viewed as a parametric description of a trivial analytic multifunction.

Holomorphic submersions from Stein manifolds

Franc Forstnerič (2004)

Annales de l’institut Fourier

We establish the homotopy classification of holomorphic submersions from Stein manifolds to Complex manifolds satisfying an analytic property introduced in the paper. The result is a holomorphic analogue of the Gromov--Phillips theorem on smooth submersions.

Injective endomorphisms of algebraic and analytic sets

Sławomir Cynk, Kamil Rusek (1991)

Annales Polonici Mathematici

We prove that every injective endomorphism of an affine algebraic variety over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero is an automorphism. We also construct an analytic curve in ℂ⁶ and its holomorphic bijection which is not a biholomorphism.
