We propose transmission conditions of order 1, 2 and 3
approximating the shielding behaviour of thin conducting curved
sheets for the magneto-quasistatic eddy current model in 2D. This
model reduction applies to sheets whose thicknesses ε are at
the order of the skin depth or essentially smaller. The sheet has
itself not to be resolved, only its midline is represented by an
interface. The computation is directly in one step with almost no
additional cost. We prove the well-posedness w.r.t. to...
If is a strongly continuous and contractive semigroup on a complex Banach space , then , , generates a holomorphic semigroup on . This was proved by K. Yosida in [7]. Using similar techniques, we present a class of Bernstein functions such that for all , the operator generates a holomorphic semigroup.
The homogenization problem (i.e. the approximation of the material with periodic structure by a homogeneous one) for linear elasticity equation is studied. Both formulations in terms of displacements and in terms of stresses are considered and the results compared. The homogenized equations are derived by the multiple-scale method. Various formulae, properties of the homogenized coefficients and correctors are introduced. The convergence of displacment vector, stress tensor and local energy is proved...
We consider quasilinear optimal control problems involving a thick two-level junction Ωε which consists of the junction body Ω0 and a large number of thin cylinders with the cross-section of order 𝒪(ε2). The thin cylinders are divided into two levels depending on the geometrical characteristics, the quasilinear boundary conditions and controls given on their lateral surfaces and bases respectively. In addition, the quasilinear boundary conditions depend on parameters ε, α, β and the...
