Integrals and Banach spaces for finite order distributions

Erik Talvila (2012)

Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal

Let c denote the real-valued functions continuous on the extended real line and vanishing at - . Let r denote the functions that are left continuous, have a right limit at each point and vanish at - . Define 𝒜 c n to be the space of tempered distributions that are the n th distributional derivative of a unique function in c . Similarly with 𝒜 r n from r . A type of integral is defined on distributions in 𝒜 c n and 𝒜 r n . The multipliers are iterated integrals of functions of bounded variation. For each n , the spaces...

Interpolation between Hp spaces and non-commutative generalizations (II).

Gilles Pisier (1993)

Revista Matemática Iberoamericana

We continue an investigation started in a preceding paper. We discuss tha classical result of Carleson connecting Carleson measures with the ∂-equation in a slightly more abstract framework than usual. We also consider a more recent result of Peter Jones which shows the existence of a solution for the ∂-equation, which satisfies simultaneously a good L∞ estimate and a good L1 estimate. This appears as a special case of our main result which can be stated as follows:Let (Ω, A, μ) be any measure space....

Invariant means on a class of von Neumann algebras related to ultraspherical hypergroups

Nageswaran Shravan Kumar (2014)

Studia Mathematica

Let K be an ultraspherical hypergroup associated to a locally compact group G and a spherical projector π and let VN(K) denote the dual of the Fourier algebra A(K) corresponding to K. In this note, invariant means on VN(K) are defined and studied. We show that the set of invariant means on VN(K) is nonempty. Also, we prove that, if H is an open subhypergroup of K, then the number of invariant means on VN(H) is equal to the number of invariant means on VN(K). We also show that a unique topological...

Invariant subspaces on open Riemann surfaces

Morisuke Hasumi (1974)

Annales de l'institut Fourier

Let R be a hyperbolic Riemann surface, d χ a harmonic measure supported on the Martin boundary of R , and H ( d χ ) the subalgebra of L ( d χ ) consisting of the boundary values of bounded analytic functions on R . This paper gives a complete classification of the closed H ( d χ ) -submodules of L p ( d χ ) , 1 p (weakly * closed, if p = , when R is regular and admits a sufficiently large family of bounded multiplicative analytic functions satisfying an approximation condition. It also gives, as a corollary, a corresponding result for the Hardy...

Invariant subspaces on open Riemann surfaces. II

Morisuke Hasumi (1976)

Annales de l'institut Fourier

We considerably improve our earlier results [Ann. Inst. Fourier, 24-4 (1974] concerning Cauchy-Read’s theorems, convergence of Green lines, and the structure of invariant subspaces for a class of hyperbolic Riemann surfaces.
