Observability and observers for nonlinear systems with time delays

Luis Alejandro Márquez-Martínez, Claude H. Moog, Martín Velasco-Villa (2002)

Kybernetika

Basic properties on linearization by output injection are investigated in this paper. A special structure is sought which is linear up to a suitable output injection and under a suitable change of coordinates. It is shown how an observer may be designed using theory available for linear time delay systems.

On a class of linear delay systems often arising in practice

Michel Fliess, Hugues Mounier (2001)

Kybernetika

We study the tracking control of linear delay systems. It is based on an algebraic property named π -freeness, which extends Kalman’s finite dimensional linear controllability and bears some similarity with finite dimensional nonlinear flat systems. Several examples illustrate the practical relevance of the notion.

On generalized Popov theory for delay systems

Silviu-Iulian Niculescu, Vlad Ionescu, Dan Ivanescu, Luc Dugard, Jean-Michel Dion (2000)

Kybernetika

This paper focuses on the Popov generalized theory for a class of some linear systems including discrete and distributed delays. Sufficient conditions for stabilizing such systems as well as for coerciveness of an appropriate quadratic cost are developed. The obtained results are applied for the design of a memoryless state feedback control law which guarantees the (exponential) closed-loop stability with an 2 norm bound constraint on disturbance attenuation. Note that the proposed results extend...

On robust stability of neutral systems

Silviu-Iulian Niculescu (2001)

Kybernetika

This paper focuses on the problem of uniform asymptotic stability of a class of linear neutral systems including some constant delays and time-varying cone-bounded nonlinearities. Sufficient stability conditions are derived by taking into account the weighting factors describing the nonlinearities. The proposed results are applied to the stability analysis of a class of lossless transmission line models.

On the constrained controllability of dynamical systems with multiple delays in the state

Beata Sikora (2003)

International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

Linear stationary dynamical systems with multiple constant delays in the state are studied. Their relative and approximate controllability properties with constrained controls are discussed. Definitions of various types of controllability with constrained controls for systems with delays in the state are introduced. Some theorems concerning the relative and the approximate relative controllability with constrained controls for dynamical systems with delays in the state are established. Various types...

On the regulator problem for a class of LTI systems with delays

Bernardino Castillo-Toledo, Eduardo Núñez-Pérez (2003)

Kybernetika

This paper deals with the problem of tracking a reference signal while maintaining the stability of the closed loop system for linear time invariant systems with delays in the states. We show that conditions for the existence of a solution to this problem (the so-called regulation problem), similar to those known for the case of delay-free linear systems, may be given. We propose a solution for both the state and error feedback regulation.

On the relation of delay equations to first-order hyperbolic partial differential equations

Iasson Karafyllis, Miroslav Krstic (2014)

ESAIM: Control, Optimisation and Calculus of Variations

This paper establishes the equivalence between systems described by a single first-order hyperbolic partial differential equation and systems described by integral delay equations. System-theoretic results are provided for both classes of systems (among them converse Lyapunov results). The proposed framework can allow the study of discontinuous solutions for nonlinear systems described by a single first-order hyperbolic partial differential equation under the effect of measurable inputs acting on...

On the structure at infinity of linear delay systems with application to the disturbance decoupling problem

Rabah Rabah, Michel Malabre (1999)

Kybernetika

The disturbance decoupling problem is studied for linear delay systems. The structural approach is used to design a decoupling precompensator. The realization of the given precompensator by static state feedback is studied. Using various structural and geometric tools, a detailed description of the feedback is given, in particular, derivative of the delayed disturbance can be needed in the realization of the precompensator.

Output feedback regulation for large-scale uncertain nonlinear systems with time delays

Shutang Liu, Weiyong Yu, Fangfang Zhang (2015)

Kybernetika

This paper is concerned with the problem of global state regulation by output feedback for large-scale uncertain nonlinear systems with time delays in the states and inputs. The systems are assumed to be bounded by a more general form than a class of feedforward systems satisfying a linear growth condition in the unmeasurable states multiplying by unknown growth rates and continuous functions of the inputs or delayed inputs. Using the dynamic gain scaling technique and choosing the appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii...
