Decentralized stabilization and strong stabilization of a bicoprime factorized plant

Dibyendu Baksi, V. V. Patel, Kanti B. Datta, Ray, G. D. (1999)

Kybernetika

In this paper, a necessary and sufficient condition for decentralized stabilizability for expanding construction of large scale systems is established which involves the computation of blocking zeros and testing a rational function for sign changes at these blocking zeros. Results for the scalar as also multivariable cases are presented and a systematic procedure for designing the stabilizing controller is also outlined. The proposed theory is applicable to a wider class of systems than those for...

Decoupling normalizing transformations and local stabilization of nonlinear systems

S. Nikitin (1996)

Mathematica Bohemica

The existence of the normalizing transformation completely decoupling the stable dynamic from the center manifold dynamic is proved. A numerical procedure for the calculation of the asymptotic series for the decoupling normalizing transformation is proposed. The developed method is especially important for the perturbation theory of center manifold and, in particular, for the local stabilization theory. In the paper some sufficient conditions for local stabilization are given.

Delay differential systems with time-varying delay: new directions for stability theory

James Louisell (2001)

Kybernetika

In this paper we give an example of Markus–Yamabe instability in a constant coefficient delay differential equation with time-varying delay. For all values of the range of the delay function, the characteristic function of the associated autonomous delay equation is exponentially stable. Still, the fundamental solution of the time-varying system is unbounded. We also present a modified example having absolutely continuous delay function, easily calculating the average variation of the delay function,...

Delay-dependent asymptotic stabilitzation for uncertain time-delay systems with saturating actuators

Pin-Lin Liu (2005)

International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

This paper concerns the issue of robust asymptotic stabilization for uncertain time-delay systems with saturating actuators. Delay-dependent criteria for robust stabilization via linear memoryless state feedback have been obtained. The resulting upper bound on the delay time is given in terms of the solution to a Riccati equation subject to model transformation. Finally, examples are presented to show the effectiveness of our result.

Delay-dependent robust stability conditions and decay estimates for systems with input delays

Kostas Hrissagis, Olga I. Kosmidou (1998)

Kybernetika

The robust stabilization of uncertain systems with delays in the manipulated variables is considered in this paper. Sufficient conditions are derived that guarantee closed-loop stability under state-feedback control in the presence of nonlinear and/or time-varying perturbations. The stability conditions are given in terms of scalar inequalities and do not require the solution of Lyapunov or Riccati equations. Instead, induced norms and matrix measures are used to yield some easy to test robust stability...

Design of a neuro-sliding mode controller for interconnected quadrotor UAVs carrying a suspended payload

Özhan Bingöl, Haci Mehmet Güzey (2023)

Kybernetika

In this study, a generalized system model is derived for interconnected quadrotor UAVs carrying a suspended payload. Moreover, a novel neural network-based sliding mode controller (NSMC) for the system is suggested. While the proposed controller uses the advantages of the robust structure of sliding mode controller (SMC) for the nonlinear system, the neural network component eliminates the chattering effects in the control signals of the SMC and increases the efficiency of the SMC against time-varying...

Design of reaching phase for variable structure controller based on SVD method

Goshaidas Ray, Sitansu Dey (2004)

Kybernetika

This paper considers a design of variable structure with sliding mode controller for a class of uncertain dynamic system based on Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) method. The proposed method reduces the number of switching gain vector components and performs satisfactorily while the external disturbance does not satisfy the matching conditions. Subsequently the stability of the global system is studied and furthermore, the design of switched gain matrix elements based on fuzzy logic approach provides...

Design of reaching phase for variable structure controller based on Householder transformation

Goshaidas Ray, Sitansu Dey, T. K. Bhattacharyya (2005)

Kybernetika

The paper presents control signals generation methods, preventing the excitation of residual vibration in slightly damped oscillational systems. It is focused on the feedforward methods, as most of the vibrations in examined processes are induced by the control, while the influence of disturbances is mostly negligible. Application of these methods involves ensuring of the insensitivity to natural frequency change, which can be reached in classical approach only by considerable increase of transient...

Design of robust output affine quadratic controller

Vojtech Veselý (2004)

Kybernetika

The paper addresses the problem robust output feedback controller design with guaranteed cost and affine quadratic stability for linear continuous time affine systems. The proposed design method leads to a non-iterative LMI based algorithm. A numerical example is given to illustrate the design procedure.

Design of the state predictive model following control system with time-delay

Dazhong Wang, Shujing Wu, Shigenori Okubo (2009)

International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

Time-delay systems exist in many engineering fields such as transportation systems, communication systems, process engineering and, more recently, networked control systems. It usually results in unsatisfactory performance and is frequently a source of instability, so the control of time-delay systems is practically important. In this paper, a design of the state predictive model following control system (PMFCS) with time-delay is discussed. The bounded property of the internal states for the control...

Design of unknown input fractional-order observers for fractional-order systems

Ibrahima N'Doye, Mohamed Darouach, Holger Voos, Michel Zasadzinski (2013)

International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

This paper considers a method of designing fractional-order observers for continuous-time linear fractional-order systems with unknown inputs. Conditions for the existence of these observers are given. Sufficient conditions for the asymptotical stability of fractional-order observer errors with the fractional order α satisfying 0 < α < 2 are derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Two numerical examples are given to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed approach, where the...

Determining the domain of attraction of hybrid non–linear systems using maximal Lyapunov functions

Szabolcs Rozgonyi, Katalin M. Hangos, Gábor Szederkényi (2010)

Kybernetika

In this article a method is presented to find systematically the domain of attraction (DOA) of hybrid non-linear systems. It has already been shown that there exists a sequence of special kind of Lyapunov functions V n in a rational functional form approximating a maximal Lyapunov function V M that can be used to find an estimation for the DOA. Based on this idea, an improved method has been developed and implemented in a Mathematica-package to find such Lyapunov functions V n for a class of hybrid (piecewise...

The convex optimal control problem for a system described by the parabolic equation is considered. The form of the right derivative of an optimal solution with respect to the parameter is derived. The applications to an air quality control problem are discussed. Numerical result are provided.

Direct adaptive control of unknown nonlinear systems using a new neuro-fuzzy method together with a novel approach of parameter hopping

Dimitris Theodoridis, Yiannis Boutalis, Manolis Christodoulou (2009)

Kybernetika

The direct adaptive regulation for affine in the control nonlinear dynamical systems possessing unknown nonlinearities, is considered in this paper. The method is based on a new Neuro-Fuzzy Dynamical System definition, which uses the concept of Fuzzy Dynamical Systems (FDS) operating in conjunction with High Order Neural Network Functions (F-HONNFs). Since the plant is considered unknown, we first propose its approximation by a special form of a fuzzy dynamical system (FDS) and in the sequel the...
