Relations between weighted Orlicz and B M O φ spaces through fractional integrals

Eleonor Ofelia Harboure, Oscar Salinas, Beatriz E. Viviani (1999)

Commentationes Mathematicae Universitatis Carolinae

We characterize the class of weights, invariant under dilations, for which a modified fractional integral operator I α maps weak weighted Orlicz - φ spaces into appropriate weighted versions of the spaces B M O ψ , where ψ ( t ) = t α / n φ - 1 ( 1 / t ) . This generalizes known results about boundedness of I α from weak L p into Lipschitz spaces for p > n / α and from weak L n / α into B M O . It turns out that the class of weights corresponding to I α acting on weak - L φ for φ of lower type equal or greater than n / α , is the same as the one solving the problem for weak...

Relaxation of optimal control problems in Lp-SPACES

Nadir Arada (2010)

ESAIM: Control, Optimisation and Calculus of Variations

We consider control problems governed by semilinear parabolic equations with pointwise state constraints and controls in an Lp-space (p < ∞). We construct a correct relaxed problem, prove some relaxation results, and derive necessary optimality conditions.

ESAIM: Control, Optimisation and Calculus of Variations

We consider control problems governed by semilinear parabolic equations with pointwise state constraints and controls in an L p -space ( p < ). We construct a correct relaxed problem, prove some relaxation results, and derive necessary optimality conditions.

Reverse-Holder classes in the Orlicz spaces setting

E. Harboure, O. Salinas, B. Viviani (1998)

Studia Mathematica

In connection with the A ϕ classes of weights (see [K-T] and [B-K]), we study, in the context of Orlicz spaces, the corresponding reverse-Hölder classes R H ϕ . We prove that when ϕ is Δ 2 and has lower index greater than one, the class R H ϕ coincides with some reverse-Hölder class R H q , q > 1 . For more general ϕ we still get R H ϕ A = q > 1 R H q although the intersection of all these R H ϕ gives a proper subset of q > 1 R H q .

Riesz angles of Orlicz sequence spaces

Ya Qiang Yan (2002)

Commentationes Mathematicae Universitatis Carolinae

We introduce some practical calculation of the Riesz angles in Orlicz sequence spaces equipped with Luxemburg norm and Orlicz norm. For an N -function Φ ( u ) whose index function is monotonous, the exact value a ( l ( Φ ) ) of the Orlicz sequence space with Luxemburg norm is a ( l ( Φ ) ) = 2 1 C Φ 0 or a ( l ( Φ ) ) = Φ - 1 ( 1 ) Φ - 1 ( 1 2 ) . The Riesz angles of Orlicz space l Φ with Orlicz norm has the estimation max ( 2 β Ψ 0 , 2 β Ψ ' ) a ( l Φ ) 2 θ Φ 0 .

Banach Center Publications

In this paper, the criteria of strong roughness, roughness and pointwise roughness of Orlicz norm and Luxemburg norm on Musielak-Orlicz function spaces are obtained.

RUC systems in rearrangement invariant spaces

P. G. Dodds, E. M. Semenov, F. A. Sukochev (2002)

Studia Mathematica

We present necessary and sufficient conditions for a rearrangement invariant function space to have a complete orthonormal uniformly bounded RUC system.

Second order elliptic operators with complex bounded measurable coefficients in L p , Sobolev and Hardy spaces

Steve Hofmann, Svitlana Mayboroda, Alan McIntosh (2011)

Annales scientifiques de l'École Normale Supérieure

Let L be a second order divergence form elliptic operator with complex bounded measurable coefficients. The operators arising in connection with L , such as the heat semigroup and Riesz transform, are not, in general, of Calderón-Zygmund type and exhibit behavior different from their counterparts built upon the Laplacian. The current paper aims at a thorough description of the properties of such operators in L p , Sobolev, and some new Hardy spaces naturally associated to L . First, we show that the...

Semicontinuity and continuous selections for the multivalued superposition operator without assuming growth-type conditions

Hông Thái Nguyêñ (2004)

Studia Mathematica

Let Ω be a measure space, and E, F be separable Banach spaces. Given a multifunction f : Ω × E 2 F , denote by N f ( x ) the set of all measurable selections of the multifunction f ( · , x ( · ) ) : Ω 2 F , s ↦ f(s,x(s)), for a function x: Ω → E. First, we obtain new theorems on H-upper/H-lower/lower semicontinuity (without assuming any conditions on the growth of the generating multifunction f(s,u) with respect to u) for the multivalued (Nemytskiĭ) superposition operator N f mapping some open domain G ⊂ X into 2 Y , where X and Y are Köthe-Bochner...

Separabilità di L 2 ( μ ) per spazi riflessivi, μ misura gaussiana

Adriana Brogini Bratti (1984)

Atti della Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali. Rendiconti Lincei. Matematica e Applicazioni

Following H. Sato - Y. Okazaky we will prove that: if X is a topological vector space, locally convex and reflexive, and μ is a gaussian measure on 𝐂 ( X , X ) , then L 2 ( μ ) is separable.

Separating polynomials on Banach spaces.

R. Gonzalo, J. A. Jaramillo (1997)

Extracta Mathematicae

In this paper we survey some recent results concerning separating polynomials on real Banach spaces. By this we mean a polynomial which separates the origin from the unit sphere of the space, thus providing an analog of the separating quadratic form on Hilbert space.
