Representations of Jordan algebras and special functions

Giancarlo Travaglini (1991)

Colloquium Mathematicae

This paper is concerned with the action of a special formally real Jordan algebra U on an Euclidean space E, with the decomposition of E under this action and with an application of this decomposition to the study of Bessel functions on the self-adjoint homogeneous cone associated to U.

Representations of quantum groups and (conditionally) invariant q-difference equations

Vladimir Dobrev (1997)

Banach Center Publications

We give a systematic discussion of the relation between q-difference equations which are conditionally U q ( ) -invariant and subsingular vectors of Verma modules over U q ( ) (the Drinfeld-Jimbo q-deformation of a semisimple Lie algebra over ℂg or ℝ). We treat in detail the cases of the conformal algebra, = su(2,2), and its complexification, = sl(4). The conditionally invariant equations are the q-deformed d’Alembert equation and a new equation arising from a subsingular vector proposed by Bernstein-Gel’fand-Gel’fand....

Representations of s l q 3 at the roots of unity

Nicoletta Cantarini (1996)

Atti della Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali. Rendiconti Lincei. Matematica e Applicazioni

In this paper we study the irreducible finite dimensional representations of the quantized enveloping algebra U q g associated to g = s l 3 , at the roots of unity. It is known that these representations are parametrized, up to isomorphisms, by the conjugacy classes of the group G = S L 3 . We get a complete classification of the representations corresponding to the submaximal unipotent conjugacy class and therefore a proof of the De Concini-Kac conjecture about the dimension of the U q g -modules at the roots of 1 in the...

Restricted and quasi-toral restricted Lie-Rinehart algebras

Bing Sun, Liangyun Chen (2015)

Open Mathematics

In this paper, we introduce the definition of restrictable Lie-Rinehart algebras, the concept of restrictability is by far more tractable than that of a restricted Lie-Rinehart algebra. Moreover, we obtain some properties of p-mappings and restrictable Lie-Rinehart algebras. Finally, we give some sufficient conditions for the commutativity of quasi-toral restricted Lie-Rinehart algebras and study how a quasi-toral restricted Lie-Rinehart algebra with zero center and of minimal dimension should be....
