On the regularization error of state constrained Neumann control problems
In this paper, we consider the solution of optimal control problem for hyperdiffusion equation involving boundary function of continuous time variable in its cost function. A specific direct approach based on infinite series of Fourier expansion in space and temporal integration by parts for analytical solution is proposed to solve optimal boundary control for hyperdiffusion equation. The time domain is divided into number of finite subdomains and optimal function is estimated at each subdomain...
In this paper we consider a class of distributed parameter systems (partial differential equations) determined by strongly nonlinear operator valued measures in the setting of the Gelfand triple V ↪ H ↪ V* with continuous and dense embeddings where H is a separable Hilbert space and V is a reflexive Banach space with dual V*. The system is given by dx + A(dt,x) = f(t,x)γ(dt) + B(t)u(dt), x(0) = ξ, t ∈ I ≡ [0,T] where A is a strongly nonlinear operator valued measure...
The stabilization with time delay in observation or control represents difficult mathematical challenges in the control of distributed parameter systems. It is well-known that the stability of closed-loop system achieved by some stabilizing output feedback laws may be destroyed by whatever small time delay there exists in observation. In this paper, we are concerned with a particularly interesting case: Boundary output feedback stabilization of a one-dimensional wave equation system for which the...

In this paper we study a one dimensional model of ferromagnetic nano-wires of finite length. First we justify the model by Γ-convergence arguments. Furthermore we prove the existence of wall profiles. These walls being unstable, we stabilize them by the mean of an applied magnetic field.

Time optimal control problems for an internally controlled heat equation with pointwise control constraints are studied. By Pontryagin’s maximum principle and properties of nontrivial solutions of the heat equation, we derive a bang-bang property for time optimal control. Using the bang-bang property and establishing certain connections between time and norm optimal control problems for the heat equation, necessary and sufficient conditions for the optimal time and the optimal control are obtained....
In this paper the time-optimal boundary control problem is presented for a distributed infinite order parabolic system in which time lags appear in the integral form both in the state equation and in the boundary condition. Some specific properties of the optimal control are discussed.
This paper deals with the formulation of the necessary optimality condition for a topology optimization problem of an elastic body in unilateral contact with a rigid foundation. In the contact problem of Tresca, a given friction is governed by an elliptic variational inequality of the second order. The optimization problem consists in finding such topology of the domain occupied by the body that the normal contact stress along the contact boundary of the body is minimized. The topological derivative...
We study a non standard unique continuation property for the biharmonic spectral problem in a 2D corner with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions and a supplementary third order boundary condition on one side of the corner. We prove that if the corner has an angle , and , a unique continuation property holds. Approximate controllability of a 2-D linear fluid-structure problem follows from this property, with a control acting on the elastic side of a corner in a domain containing a Stokes...
