Arithmetic properties of periodic points of quadratic maps
We analyze and cite applications of various, loosely related notions of uniformity inherent to the phenomenon of (multiple) recurrence in ergodic theory. An assortment of results are obtained, among them sharpenings of two theorems due to Bourgain. The first of these, which in the original guarantees existence of sets x,x+h, in subsets E of positive measure in the unit interval, with lower bounds on h depending only on m(E), is expanded to the case of arbitrary finite polynomial configurations...
A simple model of phenotypic evolution is introduced and analysed in a space of population states. The expected values of the population states generate a discrete dynamical system. The asymptotic behaviour of the system is studied with the use of classical tools of dynamical systems. The number, location and stability of fixed points of the system depend on parameters of a fitness function and the parameters of the evolutionary process itself. The influence of evolutionary process parameters on...
We consider a large class of non compact hyperbolic manifolds with cusps and we prove that the winding process generated by a closed -form supported on a neighborhood of a cusp , satisfies a limit theorem, with an asymptotic stable law and a renormalising factor depending only on the rank of the cusp and the Poincaré exponent of . No assumption on the value of is required and this theorem generalises previous results due to Y. Guivarc’h, Y. Le Jan, J. Franchi and N. Enriquez.
We introduce the notions of asymptotic period and asymptotically periodic orbits in metric spaces. We study some properties of these notions and their connections with ω-limit sets. We also discuss the notion of growth rate of such orbits and describe its properties in an extreme case.
We give sufficient conditions for the existence of a matrix of probabilities such that a system of randomly chosen transformations , k = 1,...,N, with probabilities is asymptotically stable.
