Algebraic isomorphisms and Jordan derivations of 𝒥-subspace lattice algebras

Fangyan Lu, Pengtong Li (2003)

Studia Mathematica

It is shown that every algebraic isomorphism between standard subalgebras of 𝒥-subspace lattice algebras is quasi-spatial and every Jordan derivation of standard subalgebras of 𝒥-subspace lattice algebras is an additive derivation. Also, it is proved that every finite rank operator in a 𝒥-subspace lattice algebra can be written as a finite sum of rank one operators each belonging to that algebra. As an additional result, a multiplicative bijection of a 𝒥-subspace lattice algebra onto an arbitrary...

An identity with generalized derivations on Lie ideals, right ideals and Banach algebras

Vincenzo de Filippis, Giovanni Scudo, Mohammad S. Tammam El-Sayiad (2012)

Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal

Let R be a prime ring of characteristic different from 2 , U the Utumi quotient ring of R , C = Z ( U ) the extended centroid of R , L a non-central Lie ideal of R , F a non-zero generalized derivation of R . Suppose that [ F ( u ) , u ] F ( u ) = 0 for all u L , then one of the following holds: (1) there exists α C such that F ( x ) = α x for all x R ; (2) R satisfies the standard identity s 4 and there exist a U and α C such that F ( x ) = a x + x a + α x for all x R . We also extend the result to the one-sided case. Finally, as an application we obtain some range inclusion results of...

An inequality for spherical Cauchy dual tuples

Sameer Chavan (2013)

Colloquium Mathematicae

Let T be a spherical 2-expansive m-tuple and let T denote its spherical Cauchy dual. If T is commuting then the inequality | β | = k ( β ! ) - 1 ( T ) β ( T ) * β ( k + m - 1 k ) | β | = k ( β ! ) - 1 ( T ) * β ( T ) β holds for every positive integer k. In case m = 1, this reveals the rather curious fact that all positive integral powers of the Cauchy dual of a 2-expansive (or concave) operator are hyponormal.

Aspects of the theory of derivations

Gerard Murphy (1994)

Banach Center Publications

We survey some old and new results in the theory of derivations on Banach algebras. Although our overview is broad ranging, our principal interest is in recent results concerning conditions on a derivation implying that its range is contained in the radical of the algebra.

Boundedness of commutators of strongly singular convolution operators on Herz-type spaces

Zongguang Liu (2003)

Studia Mathematica

The author investigates the boundedness of the higher order commutator of strongly singular convolution operator, T b m , on Herz spaces K ̇ q α , p ( ) and K q α , p ( ) , and on a new class of Herz-type Hardy spaces H K ̇ q , b , m α , p , 0 ( ) and H K q , b , m α , p , 0 ( ) , where 0 < p ≤ 1 < q < ∞, α = n(1-1/q) and b ∈ BMO(ℝⁿ).

Boundedness of sublinear operators on the homogeneous Herz spaces.

Guoen Hu (2003)

Publicacions Matemàtiques

Some boundedness results are established for sublinear operators on the homogeneous Herz spaces. As applications, some new theorems about the boundedness on homogeneous Herz spaces for commutators of singular integral operators are obtained.

Characterization of Jordan derivations on 𝒥-subspace lattice algebras

Xiaofei Qi (2012)

Studia Mathematica

Let 𝓛 be a 𝒥-subspace lattice on a Banach space X and Alg 𝓛 the associated 𝒥-subspace lattice algebra. Assume that δ: Alg 𝓛 → Alg 𝓛 is an additive map. It is shown that δ satisfies δ(AB + BA) = δ(A)B + Aδ(B) + δ(B)A + Bδ(A) for any A,B ∈ Alg 𝓛 with AB + BA = 0 if and only if δ(A) = τ(A) + δ(I)A for all A, where τ is an additive derivation; if X is complex with dim X ≥ 3 and if δ is linear, then δ satisfies δ(AB + BA) = δ(A)B + Aδ(B) + δ(B)A + Bδ(A) for any A,B ∈ Alg 𝓛 with AB + BA = I if...
