Hilbert space factorization and Fourier type of operators

Aicke Hinrichs (2001)

Studia Mathematica

It is an open question whether every Fourier type 2 operator factors through a Hilbert space. We show that at least the natural gradations of Fourier type 2 norms and Hilbert space factorization norms are not uniformly equivalent. A corresponding result is also obtained for a number of other sequences of ideal norms instead of the Fourier type 2 gradation including the Walsh function analogue of Fourier type. Our main tools are ideal norms and random matrices.

Hilbert transform, Toeplitz operators and Hankel operators and invariant A∞ weights.

Sergei Treil, Alexander Volberg, Dechao Zheng (1997)

Revista Matemática Iberoamericana

In this paper, several sufficient conditions for boundedness of the Hilbert transform between two weighted Lp-spaces are obtained. Invariant A∞ weights are obtained. Several characterizations of invariant A∞ weights are given. We also obtain some sufficient conditions for products of two Toeplitz operators of Hankel operators to be bounded on the Hardy space of the unit circle using Orlicz spaces and Lorentz spaces.

Hilbert-Schmidt Hankel operators with anti-holomorphic symbols on complete pseudoconvex Reinhardt domains

Mehmet Çelik, Yunus E. Zeytuncu (2017)

Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal

On complete pseudoconvex Reinhardt domains in 2 , we show that there is no nonzero Hankel operator with anti-holomorphic symbol that is Hilbert-Schmidt. In the proof, we explicitly use the pseudoconvexity property of the domain. We also present two examples of unbounded non-pseudoconvex domains in 2 that admit nonzero Hilbert-Schmidt Hankel operators with anti-holomorphic symbols. In the first example the Bergman space is finite dimensional. However, in the second example the Bergman space is infinite...

Hille-Yosida type theorems for local regularized semigroups and local integrated semigroups

Sheng Wang Wang (2002)

Studia Mathematica

Motivated by a great deal of interest recently in operators that may not be densely defined, we deal with regularized semigroups and integrated semigroups that are either not exponentially bounded or not defined on [0,∞) and generated by closed operators which may not be densely defined. Some characterizations and related examples are presented. Our results are extensions of the corresponding results produced by other authors.

Hölder's inequality for roots of symmetric operator spaces

Ken Dykema, Anna Skripka (2015)

Studia Mathematica

We prove a version of Hölder's inequality with a constant for pth roots of symmetric operator spaces of operators affiliated to a semifinite von Neumann algebra factor, and with constant equal to 1 for strongly symmetric operator spaces.

Holomorphic retractions and boundary Berezin transforms

Jonathan Arazy, Miroslav Engliš, Wilhelm Kaup (2009)

Annales de l’institut Fourier

In an earlier paper, the first two authors have shown that the convolution of a function f continuous on the closure of a Cartan domain and a K -invariant finite measure μ on that domain is again continuous on the closure, and, moreover, its restriction to any boundary face F depends only on the restriction of f to F and is equal to the convolution, in  F , of the latter restriction with some measure μ F on F uniquely determined by  μ . In this article, we give an explicit formula for μ F in terms of  F ,...

Holomorphy types and ideals of multilinear mappings

G. Botelho, H.-A. Braunss, H. Junek, D. Pellegrino (2006)

Studia Mathematica

We explore a condition under which the ideal of polynomials generated by an ideal of multilinear mappings between Banach spaces is a global holomorphy type. After some examples and applications, this condition is studied in its own right. A final section provides applications to the ideals formed by multilinear mappings and polynomials which are absolutely (p;q)-summing at every point.

Holomorphy types and spaces of entire functions of bounded type on Banach spaces

Vinícius V. Fávaro, Ariosvaldo M. Jatobá (2009)

Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal

In this paper spaces of entire functions of Θ -holomorphy type of bounded type are introduced and results involving these spaces are proved. In particular, we “construct an algorithm” to obtain a duality result via the Borel transform and to prove existence and approximation results for convolution equations. The results we prove generalize previous results of this type due to B. Malgrange: Existence et approximation des équations aux dérivées partielles et des équations des convolutions. Annales...

Homomorphisms on algebras of Lipschitz functions

Fernanda Botelho, James Jamison (2010)

Studia Mathematica

We characterize a class of *-homomorphisms on Lip⁎(X,𝓑(𝓗 )), a non-commutative Banach *-algebra of Lipschitz functions on a compact metric space and with values in 𝓑(𝓗 ). We show that the zero map is the only multiplicative *-preserving linear functional on Lip⁎(X,𝓑(𝓗 )). We also establish the algebraic reflexivity property of a class of *-isomorphisms on Lip⁎(X,𝓑(𝓗 )).

Hypercyclic and chaotic weighted shifts

K.-G. Grosse-Erdmann (2000)

Studia Mathematica

Extending previous results of H. Salas we obtain a characterisation of hypercyclic weighted shifts on an arbitrary F-sequence space in which the canonical unit vectors ( e n ) form a Schauder basis. If the basis is unconditional we give a characterisation of those hypercyclic weighted shifts that are even chaotic.
