On the existence of escaping geodesics.
We introduce a class of metrics on the tangent bundle of a Riemannian manifold and find the Levi-Civita connections of these metrics. Then by using the Levi-Civita connection, we study the conformal vector fields on the tangent bundle of the Riemannian manifold. Finally, we obtain some relations between the flatness (resp. local symmetry) properties of the tangent bundle and the flatness (resp. local symmetry) on the base manifold.
The main purpose of this paper is to investigate some relations between the flatness or locally symmetric property on the tangent bundle TM equipped with the metric II+III and the same property on the base manifold M and study geodesics by means of the adapted frame on TM.
A. Rapcsák obtained necessary and sufficient conditions for the projective Finsler metrizability in terms of a second order partial differential system. In this paper we investigate the integrability of the Rapcsák system and the extended Rapcsák system, by using the Spencer version of the Cartan-Kähler theorem. We also consider the extended Rapcsák system completed with the curvature condition. We prove that in the non-isotropic case there is a nontrivial Spencer cohomology group in the sequences...
We present a brief survey of the spectral theory and dynamics of infinite volume asymptotically hyperbolic manifolds. Beginning with their geometry and examples, we proceed to their spectral and scattering theories, dynamics, and the physical description of their quantum and classical mechanics. We conclude with a discussion of recent results, ideas, and conjectures.
