Group method analysis of two-dimensional plate in heat flux.
This paper considers group synchronization issue of diffusively directed coupled harmonic oscillators for two cases with nonidentical and identical agent dynamics. For the case of coupled nonidentical harmonic oscillators with positive coupling, it is demonstrated that distributed group synchronization can always be achieved under two kinds of network structures, i. e., the strongly connected graph and the acyclic partition topology with a directed spanning tree. It is interesting to find that the...
The paper is concerned with guaranteed and computable bounds of the limit (or safety) load, which is one of the most important quantitative characteristics of mathematical models associated with linear growth functionals. We suggest a new method for getting such bounds and illustrate its performance. First, the main ideas are demonstrated with the paradigm of a simple variational problem with a linear growth functional defined on a set of scalar valued functions. Then, the method is extended to...
In this paper one considers the linearized problem to determine the movement of an ideal heavy fluid contained in an unbounded container withelastic walls. As initial data one knows the movement of both the bottom and the free surface of the fluid and also the strength of certain perturbation, strong enough to take the bottom out of its rest state. One important point to be considered regards the influence of the bottom’s geometry on the propagation of superficial waves. This problem has been already...
In this work, we analyze hierarchic -finite element discretizations of the full, three-dimensional plate problem. Based on two-scale asymptotic expansion of the three-dimensional solution, we give specific mesh design principles for the -FEM which allow to resolve the three-dimensional boundary layer profiles at robust, exponential rate. We prove that, as the plate half-thickness tends to zero, the -discretization is consistent with the three-dimensional solution to any power of in the energy...
A nonlinear elliptic partial differential equation with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions is examined. The problem describes for instance a stationary heat conduction in nonlinear inhomogeneous and anisotropic media. For finite elements of degree we prove the optimal rates of convergence in the -norm and in the -norm provided the true solution is sufficiently smooth. Considerations are restricted to domains with polyhedral boundaries. Numerical integration is not taken into account....
