Bending deformations of complex hyperbolic surfaces.
The standard Berezin and Berezin-Toeplitz quantizations on a Kähler manifold are based on operator symbols and on Toeplitz operators, respectively, on weighted L2-spaces of holomorphic functions (weighted Bergman spaces). In both cases, the construction basically uses only the fact that these spaces have a reproducing kernel. We explore the possibilities of using other function spaces with reproducing kernels instead, such as L2-spaces of harmonic functions, Sobolev spaces, Sobolev spaces of holomorphic...
Let be a Hermitian symmetric space of the non-compact type and let be a discrete series representation of which is holomorphically induced from a unitary irreducible representation of . In the paper [B. Cahen, Berezin quantization for holomorphic discrete series representations: the non-scalar case, Beiträge Algebra Geom., DOI 10.1007/s13366-011-0066-2], we have introduced a notion of complex-valued Berezin symbol for an operator acting on the space of . Here we study the corresponding...
We give an equivalent condition for Bergman completeness of Zalcman type domains. This also solves a problem stated by Pflug.
We introduce the notion of the Shilov boundary for some subfamilies of upper semicontinuous functions on a compact Hausdorff space. It is by definition the smallest closed subset of the given space on which all functions of that subclass attain their maximum. For certain subfamilies with simple structure we show the existence and uniqueness of the Shilov boundary. We provide its relation to the set of peak points and establish Bishop-type theorems. As an application we obtain a generalization of...
We use a Poincaré type formula and level set analysis to detect one-dimensional symmetry of stable solutions of possibly degenerate or singular elliptic equations of the formOur setting is very general and, as particular cases, we obtain new proofs of a conjecture of De Giorgi for phase transitions in and and of the Bernstein problem on the flatness of minimal area graphs in . A one-dimensional symmetry result in the half-space is also obtained as a byproduct of our analysis. Our approach...
We show that in the class of compact, piecewise curves K in , the semialgebraic curves are exactly those which admit a Bernstein (or a van der Corput-Schaake) type inequality for the derivatives of (the traces of) polynomials on K.
We discuss Bernstein polynomials of reductive linear free divisors. We define suitable Brieskorn lattices for these non-isolated singularities, and show the analogue of Malgrange’s result relating the roots of the Bernstein polynomial to the residue eigenvalues on the saturation of these Brieskorn lattices.
