Holomorphic group actions with many compact orbits.
In an earlier paper, the first two authors have shown that the convolution of a function continuous on the closure of a Cartan domain and a -invariant finite measure on that domain is again continuous on the closure, and, moreover, its restriction to any boundary face depends only on the restriction of to and is equal to the convolution, in , of the latter restriction with some measure on uniquely determined by . In this article, we give an explicit formula for in terms of ,...
In this note we prove the stability of the Gieseker point of an irreducible homogeneous bundle over a rational homogeneous space. As an application we get a sharp upper estimate for the first eigenvalue of the Laplacian of an arbitrary Kähler metric on a compact Hermitian symmetric spaces of ABCD–type.
Let be a bounded symmetric domain in and an irreducible arithmetic lattice which operates freely on . We prove that the cusp–compactification of is hyperbolic.
We prove that the exceptional complex Lie group has a transitive action on the hyperplane section of the complex Cayley plane . Although the result itself is not new, our proof is elementary and constructive. We use an explicit realization of the vector and spin actions of . Moreover, we identify the stabilizer of the -action as a parabolic subgroup (with Levi factor ) of the complex Lie group . In the real case we obtain an analogous realization of .
