Holomorphic foliations by curves on 3 with non-isolated singularities

Gilcione Nonato Costa (2006)

Annales de la faculté des sciences de Toulouse Mathématiques

Let be a holomorphic foliation by curves on 3 . We treat the case where the set Sing ( ) consists of disjoint regular curves and some isolated points outside of them. In this situation, using Baum-Bott’s formula and Porteuos’theorem, we determine the number of isolated singularities, counted with multiplicities, in terms of the degree of , the multiplicity of along the curves and the degree and genus of the curves.

Instability of equilibria in dimension three

Marco Brunella (1998)

Annales de l'institut Fourier

In this paper we show that if v is an analytic vector field on 3 having an isolated singular point at 0, then there exists a trajectory of v which converges to 0 in the past or in the future. The proof is based on certain results concerning desingularizaton of vector fields in dimension three and on index-type arguments à la Poincaré-Hopf.

Kähler manifolds with split tangent bundle

Marco Brunella, Jorge Vitório Pereira, Frédéric Touzet (2006)

Bulletin de la Société Mathématique de France

This paper is concerned with compact Kähler manifolds whose tangent bundle splits as a sum of subbundles. In particular, it is shown that if the tangent bundle is a sum of line bundles, then the manifold is uniformised by a product of curves. The methods are taken from the theory of foliations of (co)dimension 1.

Minimal, rigid foliations by curves on n

Frank Loray, Julio C. Rebelo (2003)

Journal of the European Mathematical Society

We prove the existence of minimal and rigid singular holomorphic foliations by curves on the projective space n for every dimension n 2 and every degree d 2 . Precisely, we construct a foliation which is induced by a homogeneous vector field of degree d , has a finite singular set and all the regular leaves are dense in the whole of n . Moreover, satisfies many additional properties expected from chaotic dynamics and is rigid in the following sense: if is conjugate to another holomorphic foliation...

Modulus of analytic classification for the generic unfolding of a codimension 1 resonant diffeomorphism or resonant saddle

Christiane Rousseau, Colin Christopher (2007)

Annales de l’institut Fourier

We consider germs of one-parameter generic families of resonant analytic diffeomorphims and we give a complete modulus of analytic classification by means of the unfolding of the Écalle modulus. We describe the parametric resurgence phenomenon. We apply this to give a complete modulus of orbital analytic classification for the unfolding of a generic resonant saddle of a 2-dimensional vector field by means of the unfolding of its holonomy map. Here again the modulus is an unfolding of the Martinet-Ramis...

Monodromy and topological classification of germs of holomorphic foliations

David Marín, Jean-François Mattei (2012)

Annales scientifiques de l'École Normale Supérieure

We give a complete topological classification of germs of holomorphic foliations in the plane under rather generic conditions. The key point is the introduction of a new topological invariant called monodromy representation. This monodromy contains all the relevant dynamical information, in particular the projective holonomy representations whose topological invariance was conjectured in the eighties by Cerveau and Sad and is proved here under mild hypotheses.

Non-embeddability of general unipotent diffeomorphisms up to formal conjugacy

Javier Ribón (2009)

Annales de l’institut Fourier

The formal class of a germ of diffeomorphism ϕ is embeddable in a flow if ϕ is formally conjugated to the exponential of a germ of vector field. We prove that there are complex analytic unipotent germs of diffeomorphisms at n ( n > 1 ) whose formal class is non-embeddable. The examples are inside a family in which the non-embeddability is of geometrical type. The proof relies on the properties of some linear functional operators that we obtain through the study of polynomial families of diffeomorphisms...

Normal forms of analytic perturbations of quasihomogeneous vector fields: Rigidity, invariant analytic sets and exponentially small approximation

Eric Lombardi, Laurent Stolovitch (2010)

Annales scientifiques de l'École Normale Supérieure

In this article, we study germs of holomorphic vector fields which are “higher order” perturbations of a quasihomogeneous vector field in a neighborhood of the origin of n , fixed point of the vector fields. We define a “Diophantine condition” on the quasihomogeneous initial part S which ensures that if such a perturbation of S is formally conjugate to S then it is also holomorphically conjugate to it. We study the normal form problem relatively to S . We give a condition on S that ensures that there...

Normalization of Poincaré singularities via variation of constants.

Timoteo Carletti, Alessandro Margheri, Massimo Villarin (2005)

Publicacions Matemàtiques

We present a geometric proof of the Poincaré-Dulac Normalization Theorem for analytic vector fields with singularities of Poincaré type. Our approach allows us to relate the size of the convergence domain of the linearizing transformation to the geometry of the complex foliation associated to the vector field.

On dicritical foliations and Halphen pencils

Luís Gustavo Mendes, Paulo Sad (2002)

Annali della Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa - Classe di Scienze

The aim of this article is to provide information on the number and on the geometrical position of singularities of holomorphic foliations of the projective plane. As an application it is shown that certain foliations are in fact Halphen pencils of elliptic curves. The results follow from Miyaoka’s semipositivity theorem, combined with recent developments on the birational geometry of foliations.

On Fatou-Julia decompositions

Taro Asuke (2013)

Annales de la faculté des sciences de Toulouse Mathématiques

We propose a Fatou-Julia decomposition for holomorphic pseudosemigroups. It will be shown that the limit sets of finitely generated Kleinian groups, the Julia sets of mapping iterations and Julia sets of complex codimension-one regular foliations can be seen as particular cases of the decomposition. The decomposition is applied in order to introduce a Fatou-Julia decomposition for singular holomorphic foliations. In the well-studied cases, the decomposition behaves as expected.

On transcendental automorphisms of algebraic foliations

B. Scárdua (2003)

Fundamenta Mathematicae

We study the group Aut(ℱ) of (self) isomorphisms of a holomorphic foliation ℱ with singularities on a complex manifold. We prove, for instance, that for a polynomial foliation on ℂ² this group consists of algebraic elements provided that the line at infinity ℂP(2)∖ℂ² is not invariant under the foliation. If in addition ℱ is of general type (cf. [20]) then Aut(ℱ) is finite. For a foliation with hyperbolic singularities at infinity, if there is a transcendental automorphism then the foliation is either...
