Espacios de Fréchet de generación debilmente compacta.
Let () be a compact set; assume that each ball centered on the boundary of meets in a set of positive Lebesgue measure. Let be the class of all continuously differentiable real-valued functions with compact support in and denote by the area of the unit sphere in . With each we associate the function of the variable (which is continuous in and harmonic in ). depends only on the restriction of to the boundary of . This gives rise to a linear operator acting from...
We define the magnetic Schrödinger operator on an infinite graph by the data of a magnetic field, some weights on vertices and some weights on edges. We discuss essential self-adjointness of this operator for graphs of bounded degree. The main result is a discrete version of a result of two authors of the present paper.
The purpose of this note is to present several criteria for essential self-adjointness. The method is based on ideas due to Shubin. This note is divided into two parts. The first part deals with symmetric first order systems on the line in the most general setting. Such a symmetric first order system of differential equations gives rise naturally to a symmetric linear relation in a Hilbert space. In this case even regularity is nontrivial. We will announce a regularity result and discuss criteria...
We give lower and upper estimates of the capacity of self-similar measures generated by iterated function systems where are bi-lipschitzean transformations.
For the Dirichlet Laplacian in the exterior of a strictly convex obstacle, we show that the number of scattering poles of modulus in a small angle near the real axis, can be estimated by Const for sufficiently large depending on . Here is the dimension.
The rate of growth of an operator T satisfying the mean ergodic theorem (MET) cannot be faster than linear. It was recently shown (Kornfeld-Kosek, Colloq. Math. 98 (2003)) that for every γ > 0, there are positive L¹[0,1] operators T satisfying MET with . In the class of positive L¹ operators this is the most one can hope for in the sense that for every such operator T, there exists a γ₀ > 0 such that In this note we construct an example of a nonpositive L¹ operator with the highest possible...
