Yanjiang Li, Zhongqing Yu, Yumei Huang (2024)

Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal

The self-consistent chemotaxis-fluid system n t + u · n = Δ n - · ( n c ) + · ( n φ ) , x Ω , t > 0 , c t + u · c = Δ c - n c , x Ω , t > 0 , u t + κ ( u · ) u + P = Δ u - n φ + n c , x Ω , t > 0 , · u = 0 , x Ω , t > 0 , is considered under no-flux boundary conditions for n , c and the Dirichlet boundary condition for u on a bounded smooth domain Ω N ( N = 2 , 3 ...

Global controllability and stabilization for the nonlinear Schrödinger equation on an interval

Camille Laurent (2010)

ESAIM: Control, Optimisation and Calculus of Variations

We prove global internal controllability in large time for the nonlinear Schrödinger equation on a bounded interval with periodic, Dirichlet or Neumann conditions. Our strategy combines stabilization and local controllability near 0. We use Bourgain spaces to prove this result on L2. We also get a regularity result about the control if the data are assumed smoother.

Global dynamics beyond the ground state energy for nonlinear dispersive equations

Kenji Nakanishi (2012)

Journées Équations aux dérivées partielles

This is a brief introduction to the joint work with Wilhelm Schlag and Joachim Krieger on the global dynamics for nonlinear dispersive equations with unstable ground states. We prove that the center-stable and the center-unstable manifolds of the ground state solitons separate the energy space by the dynamical property into the scattering and the blow-up regions, respectively in positive time and in negative time. The transverse intersection of the two manifolds yields nine sets of global dynamics,...

Global existence and decay of solutions of a coupled system of BBM-Burgers equations.

Jardel Morais Pereira (2000)

Revista Matemática Complutense

The global well-posedness of the initial-value problem associated to the coupled system of BBM-Burgers equations (*) in the classical Sobolev spaces Hs(R) x Hs(R) for s ≥ 2 is studied. Furthermore we find decay estimates of the solutions of (*) in the norm Lq(R) x Lq(R), 2 ≤ q ≤ ∞ for general initial data. Model (*) is motivated by a work due to Gear and Grimshaw [10] who considered strong interaction of weakly nonlinear long waves governed by a coupled system of KdV equations.

Global existence for the inflow-outflow problem for the Navier-Stokes equations in a cylinder

Piotr Kacprzyk (2009)

Applicationes Mathematicae

Global existence of regular solutions to the Navier-Stokes equations describing the motion of an incompressible viscous fluid in a cylindrical pipe with large inflow and outflow is shown. To prove the long time existence we need smallness of derivatives, with respect to the variable along the axis of the cylinder, of the external force and of the initial velocity in L₂-norms. Moreover, we need smallness of derivatives of inflow and outflow with respect to tangent directions to the boundary and with...

Global existence of axially symmetric solutions to Navier-Stokes equations with large angular component of velocity

Wojciech M. Zajączkowski (2004)

Colloquium Mathematicae

Global existence of axially symmetric solutions to the Navier-Stokes equations in a cylinder with the axis of symmetry removed is proved. The solutions satisfy the ideal slip conditions on the boundary. We underline that there is no restriction on the angular component of velocity. We obtain two kinds of existence results. First, under assumptions necessary for the existence of weak solutions, we prove that the velocity belongs to W 4 / 3 2 , 1 ( Ω × ( 0 , T ) ) , so it satisfies the Serrin condition. Next, increasing regularity...
